'barbie video girl' in fbi cross hairs

barbie video camera streams & downloads to computer
'barbie video girl' in fbi cross hairsfrom threat level: A Barbie doll tricked out with a video camera concealed in her necklace could be used by predators to create child pornography, warns the FBI in a recent cybercrime alert. In the alert, mistakenly released to the press, the FBI expressed concern that the toy’s camera, which can capture 30 minutes of video and rivals a Canon 7D in quality, could be used to lure children and surreptitiously film child pornography. Barbie and other dolls have been used in the past by sexual predators to attract victims.

According to ABC News, which obtained a copy of the memo, the FBI appears to have opened an investigation into the doll. Mattel, the maker of Barbie Video Girl, noted in a statement that the FBI didn’t say it knew of any cases where the Barbie camera had been used for such nefarious purposes.

But a sheriff’s spokesman told ABC News that the FBI alert will be helpful for drawing attention to investigators collecting evidence at a crime scene. “When we’re doing a search warrant looking for media that a child pornographer may have used, we’re gonna have to put Barbie on the list just like any other cameras [and] computers,” said Sgt. John Urquhart from the King County Sheriff’s Department in Washington state.

media smears of truth movement reaching crescendo

despite recent breakthroughs, the media continues to paint 9/11 truthers & others as dangerous terrorists
media smears of truth movement reaching crescendofrom corbett report: Recent months have seen numerous breakthroughs for the truth movement in the corporate media, from Fox 26's interview with Richard Gage of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth to 9/11 Press For Truth being aired on local television in Colorado to coverage of this year's Bilderberg conference in major British newspapers. Despite these positive developments, however, primetime TV dramas are continuing to portray those skeptical of the official 9/11 story (a clear majority of the American public according to poll after poll) as deranged terrorists who are likely to commit acts of violence.

from raw replay: James Von Brunn, who was charged Thursday with the shooting death of a guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., was a “birther,” part of a fringe movement that doesn’t believe that President Obama was born in the United States. Salon’s Joan Walsh joins Rachel Maddow to talk about the danger of the “birther” movement. This video is from MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, broadcast June 11, 2009.

the tragedy & farce of collective guilt
from freedom in our time: The tenuous, gossamer link of distant association described by Dark Helmet works as a piece of throw-away satirical comedy. Under the doctrine of collective guilt being promoted by our would-be cultural commissars, that relationship would also be sufficient to serve as a "link" connecting Lone Star to the crimes committed by Dark Helmet. Lest it be thought that I'm exaggerating, consider Keith Olbermann's effort to connect Ron Paul - a man devoted to peace and protecting the individual rights of everybody, a man who seems biologically incapable of malice - to James von Brunn, the troubled 88-year-old man accused of carrying out the murderous shooting rampage at the Holocaust Museum. Olbermann, who looks like one of Eugene Levy's SCTV caricatures and (to my disappointment) appears to have the soul of an East German prosecutor, grimly informed his viewing audience that "von Brunn switched his website domain on May 1 to a man who shares a phone number with a woman who was listed as the Michigan coordinator for former presidential candidate Ron Paul." What does that make the actual relationship between von Brunn and Dr. Paul. As Dark Helmet would say: Absolutely nothing.

stupor bowl ad 'jokes' that tv turns yr brain into mind controlled mush

from rogue government: A bizarre commercial that aired on the Superbowl depicts Alec Baldwin talking about how TV is designed to turn people's brains to mush so they are easily controlled and that reptilian aliens are behind the operation to do this.

too much tv can make children 'mentally ill'
too much tv can make children 'mentally ill'from telegraph: Excessive exposure makes a child materialistic, which in turn affects their relationship with their parents and their health. That is one of the conclusions of a new wide-ranging survey into British childhood, produced for the Children's Society. It says that children are part of a new form of consumerism, with under 16 year-olds spending £3 billion of their own money each year on clothes, snacks, music, video games and magazines. The report claims that some advertisers "explicitly exploit the mechanism of peer pressure, while painting parents as buffoons" and that in its most extreme form, advertising persuades children that "you are what you own".

super bowl interrupted by porn in arizona
from ap: A Tucson television station says its broadcast of the Super Bowl was interrupted for some customers by about 10 seconds of pornographic material. NBC affiliate KVOA-TV in Tucson posted a statement on its Web site late Sunday saying the only viewers who were able to see the material were those who receive the channel through Comcast cable. KVOA says it will investigate the incident and that the game was sent out from the station without interruptions or pornographic material.

bailed out bank of america sponsors super bowl fun fest
from abcnews: Despite a near collapse that required $45 billion in federal taxpayer bailout funds, Bank of America sponsored a five day carnival-like affair just outside the Super Bowl stadium this past week as President Obama decried wasteful spending on Wall St. The event - known as the NFL Experience - was 850,000 square feet of sports games and interactive entertainment attractions for football fans and was blanketed in Bank of America logos and marketing calls to sign up for football-themed banking products. The bank staunchly defended its sponsorship, saying it was a "business proposition" and part of its "growth strategy." Critics blasted the spending as a serious abuse of taxpayer money. "The prominent sponsorship of the Super Bowl says to the American people we'll take your money and then we're going to go waste it," Tom Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government Waste, a watchdog group, told ABC News. Leading Congressional critic, Congressman Elijah Cummings, (D-MD), said, "They should know better, but obviously they don't."

a slew of warnings on nuclear, chemical & biological terrorism prompt worries of fearmongering (or fears of worrymongering)
a slew of warnings on nuclear, chemical & biological terrorism prompt worries of fearmongering (or fears of worrymongering)from usnews: After a series of dire new warnings about possible terrorist threats—capped by a government commission's report that terrorists are likely to stage a biological or nuclear attack somewhere in the world during the next five years—some experts are urging officials "to retire the fear card," as California Rep. Jane Harman puts it. "We need to educate and inform the American people, not terrify them with alarming details about possible threats to the homeland," she said, reacting to the 132-page report from the Commission for the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism released this week. Harman, who heads the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Intelligence and Terrorism Risk Assessment, added, "It's time for the rhetoric about that threat to calm, instead of inflame, an anxious public."

slew of warnings on nuclear, biological terrorism prompt worries of fearmongeringThe drumbeat started last month, when Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell said that the potential for a WMD attack in the coming decades is growing. The probability is increasing, he said, that the world will see "large casualty terrorist attacks using chemical, biological, or, less likely, nuclear materials." And the U.S. intelligence community recently released a study warning of an increased risk of the use of mass-casualty weapons by 2025.

stratcom urges quick nuclear weapons modernization
stratcom urges quick nuclear weapons modernizationfrom washington post: The leader of the U.S. Strategic Command said yesterday that "time is not on our side" to modernize the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile, particularly as China and Russia upgrade their nuclear warheads and delivery systems. "The path of inaction is a path leading toward nuclear disarmament. . . . The time to act is now," Air Force Gen. Kevin P. Chilton told an audience of government, military and civilian arms experts attending the Nuclear Deterrence Summit in Washington. But Rep. Ellen O. Tauscher (D-Calif.), chairman of the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic weapons, told the same audience that the nation's nuclear modernization program was in a "holding pattern" until the Obama administration could review studies that are to be completed next year. Chilton said he was concerned that Congress had effectively killed the Bush administration's Reliable Replacement Warhead program, which is designed to provide a modern, safer warhead with no new capabilities before the end of this decade. Expressing concern that the nation's Cold War stockpile is aging, Chilton said that "a reliable [nuclear] inventory supports nonproliferation goals."

uk's big brother police to get 'war-time' powers
uk's big brother police to get 'war-time' powersfrom daily mail: State officials are to be given powers previously reserved for times of war to demand a person's proof of identity at any time. Anybody who refuses the Big Brother demand could face arrest and a possible prison sentence. The new rules come in legislation unveiled in today's [dec3] Queen's Speech. They are presented as a crackdown on illegal immigration, but lawyers say they could be applied to anybody who has ever been outside the UK, even on holiday. The civil rights group Liberty, which analysed clauses from the new Immigration and Citizenship Bill, called them an attempt to introduce compulsory ID cards by the back door.

german police get powers to hack into home computers
from telegraph: Under a compromise between the hardline Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and dissenting MPs, Germany's Parliament is put unprecedented power in the hands of the Federal Criminal Police (BKA). New laws, some of the toughest in Europe, will also allow police to bug and photograph suspect's homes, tap their phones and track the location of their mobile calls. Under the compromise, the police will need a judge's approval before using the Trojans, even in an emergency. Trojans will carry "Remote Forensic Software" that can search hard drives and send evidence back to investigators without their having to enter the suspect's home.

berlusconi plans to use g8 presidency to 'regulate the internet'
from the register: Italian president and media baron Silvio Berlusconi said today that he would use his country's imminent presidency of the G8 group to push for an international agreement to "regulate the internet". Speaking to Italian postal workers, Reuters reports Berlusconi said: "The G8 has as its task the regulation of financial markets... I think the next G8 can bring to the table a proposal for a regulation of the internet." Italy's G8 presidency begins on January 1. The role is taken by each of the group's members in rotation. The holder country is responsible for organising and hosting the G8's meetings and setting the agenda. Italy's last G8 presidency in 2001, also under Berlusconi, was marred by riots at the annual meeting in Genoa.

bush fcc chairman considering 'porn-free Internet'
from raw story: Bush Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin is still considering a proposal to create a free, porn-free Internet, according to today's Wall Street Journal: "The free Internet plan is the most controversial issue the agency will tackle in December. Mr. Martin shelved plans to consider a wider variety of sticky issues pending at the agency, including a request by the Hollywood studios to hobble TVs and set-top boxes so studios can offer copy-protected theatrical releases sooner. The proposal to allow a no-smut, free wireless Internet service is part of a proposal to auction off a chunk of airwaves. The winning bidder would be required to set aside a quarter of the airwaves for a free Internet service"... Martin was Deputy General Counsel for the Bush-Cheney 2000 recount.

courtroom showdown: bush demands spying telecom amnesty
from threat level: The Bush administration on Tuesday will try to convince a federal judge to let stand a law granting retroactive legal immunity to the nation's telecoms, which are accused of transmitting Americans' private communications to the National Security Agency without warrants. At issue in the high-stakes showdown... are the nearly four dozen lawsuits filed by civil liberties groups and class action attorneys against AT&T, Verizon, MCI, Sprint and other carriers who allegedly cooperated with the Bush administration's domestic surveillance program in the years following the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The lawsuits claim the cooperation violated federal wiretapping laws and the Constitution. (28kb PDF) In July, as part of a wider domestic spying bill, Congress voted to kill the lawsuits and grant retroactive amnesty to any phone companies that helped with the surveillance; President-elect Barack Obama was among those who voted for the law in the Senate. On Tuesday, lawyers with the Electronic Frontier Foundation are set to urge the federal judge overseeing those lawsuits to reject immunity as unconstitutional. At stake, they say, is the very principle of the rule of law in America.

behavioral screening: the future of airport security?
behavioral screening: the future of airport security?from cnn: Keep your shoes and belts on: Waiting in long airport security lines to pass through metal detectors may soon be a thing of the past. Security experts say focus is shifting from analyzing the content of carry-ons to analyzing the content of passengers' intentions and emotions. "We are seeing a needed paradigm shift when it comes to security," says Omer Laviv, CEO of ATHENA GS3, an Israeli-based security company. "This 'brain-fingerprinting,' or technology which checks for behavioral intent, is much more developed than we think." Nowhere is the need for cutting-edge security more acute than Israel, which faces constant security threats. For this reason, Israel has become a leader in developing security technology.

taser intl uses playboy bunnies to sell its products

who says there isn’t an intimate connection between sex & violence?
taser intl uses playboy bunnies to sell its productsfrom common dreams: Vancouver businessman Randy Puder was drawn to the booth operated by Taser International at the Consumer Trade Show in Las Vegas last January. Playboy bunnies were signing photographs while salesmen pitched a new personal Taser that’s small enough to fit into a woman’s purse, he recalled.

It was excellent marketing,” Puder told a public inquiry Thursday probing the use of Tasers in B.C. He got a signed photo from a Playboy bunny, which he showed to The Vancouver Sun. It has the Taser company logo on it. He was asked who he wanted it signed to and he said, half-joking, “The Vancouver police board.” ...

I was shocked, actually, which is why I’m here today,” Puder told the inquiry, pointing out that his late brother, Gil Puder, was a use-of-force trainer with Vancouver police from 1990 to 1993. Puder said he was a concerned citizen and suggested a moratorium should be placed on Taser use until there can be proper testing in Canada.

Until tested in Canada by Canadian medical practitioners, it should be put on the shelf... We are not the United States,” Puder said. “We have an entirely different model of police and training.”

ron paul primaries: videos, vegas, nevada & russia

ron paul places 2nd in nevada
from cbs: Ron Paul's fervent supporters have something to crow about: With nearly all precincts reporting, the Texas representative is sitting in second place in the Nevada caucuses... “Ron Paul has once again topped multiple media-anointed ‘frontrunners’ with his poll-defying second place showing in Nevada,” Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder said in a statement. “We’re in this race to win, and we’re going to battle for every delegate in this wide-open race for the Republican nomination.”

ron paul has sticking power, but how much?
from c.j. anderson: Paul won second in Nevada! excellent, and he will have a good showing in the future (even if he just wins Alaska he has succeeded in getting his message out). He has tons of cash, and another donation day on the way (freeatlast2008.com). What does all this mean? It means he has enough support and enough money to last until the convention in September, but is that good enough? No, it's not. He needs longer lasting power. The Libertarian boost seen in this election, thanks to Paul, needs to go on past November and on into the next presidency... I realize my last article was put up on the Alex Jones Info Wars website and I'll take this opportunity to state I think 9/11 truthers are insane and couldn't be farther from the truth. In my personal opinion I would have no objection to vigilante justice in response to their sign waving events.

video: ron paul interviewed by russia today
from russia today: Ron Paul, 2008 U.S. Republican presidential hopeful, is critical of America's current policy towards Russia. He commented to RT on his political views.

new york times censors ron paul
from charlotte conservative voice: Ron Paul finished second today beating McCain, Thompson, Giuliani and Huckabee in Nevada. Yet the rag newspaper New York Times found a way to continue to ignore Ron Paul. Theofficial results pageon the New York Times website does not even list Ron Paul as a candidate... But the New York times thinks this isn’t worth their ink to print. Ron Paul out performed Senator Edwards today 3 to 1 in percentage points but still they dont even print his name.

nevada gop dismisses paul complaint
from boston globe: Ron Paul, other than Mitt Romney the only Republican actively campaigning for Saturday's Republican caucuses in Nevada, called this afternoon for the state party to consider postponing the contest due to "multiple inconsistencies." But the state Republican Party immediately dismissed the allegations and said the caucus would go on as planned.

'dc madam' posts client numbers online

'dc madam' posts client numbers onlinefrom raw story: Following the judge's lifting of a gag order, "DC Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey promised to release her phone records to selected sources. However, those records have now been posted in full to her website.

Because the website has suffered from a series of periodic outages since the records were posted Monday evening, the following message from Palfrey is being reproduced here:
"I have reason to believe the disk – containing a full set of the telephone records for the 13 year operational history of 'Pamela Martin & Associates' – already has been pirated. Despite our very best intentions to maintain control of the information, our efforts seemingly have been for naught. I am concerned about manipulation of the database with false and misleading information. Even though such falsifications can be refuted in time by comparing an altered copy with the original, my attorney, Mr. Sibley and I fear that in the intervening time period, considerable damage can and will be done to the reputations of individual and entities with no connection to the business. Additionally, the overall validity of the records’ contents will be diminished when one false accusation after another begins to manifest. Therefore, to thwart any possible distorted version and to ensure the integrity of the information, the records – in their entirety – are available for downloading."
The following links to Palfrey's records may only work periodically due to site outages.

update: flynt & palfrey target dc 'hypocrisy'
from politico: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, already on a hunt for Washington sex scandals, has teamed up with a powerful new ally: "D.C. Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey.

It's an alignment born from coincidental interests: Flynt wants to expose Washington hypocrites, and Palfrey has a long list of people who probably qualify. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) became their first victim when a Flynt investigator linked his name and honorable title to an old telephone number on Palfrey's client list.

Vitter's exposure on Tuesday should put any other conservative Republican with sexy skeletons on notice: Start practicing your mea culpa.

virgin atlantic showing 'loose change' in-flight
virgin atlantic showing 'loose change' in-flightfrom digg: Loose Change 2 will be shown on Virgin Atlantic flights during the month of May 2007. This incredible (and ironic) development has surfaced via email and on 9/11 Blogger. It is reported on Mercury Media, who distribute media to various networks, studios and airlines, as the first of such airlines to purchase the hit documentary for in-air performance.

and the crowd goes apeshit! contact virgin and congratulate them for their massive balls!

UPDATE: virgin airlines drops in-flight 'change'
from register: Virgin Airlines has pulled a controversial internet documentary on 9/11 from its in-flight entertainment system after complaints from bloggers and radio shows...

another update: virgin's email reply to media monarchy...
Dear Sir/Madam

Many thanks for your email

We appreciate your support in our decision to show Loose Change 2 on our flights.

We have since made the decision not to screen the documentary. Virgin Atlantic is known for showing the latest movies and media trends, without censorship, as we believe that travellers have the right to choose from as wide a programme as possible. However as there was a danger with this movie, that viewers may be offended, although they have the choice not to view it, we have decided to remove it from the in flight Entertainment menu.

We appreciate you taking the time to get in touch with us and we thank you again for your support.

Yours faithfully

cashless society by 2012, says visa chieffrom independent: Paying for goods with notes and coins could be consigned to history within five years, according to the chief executive of Visa Europe. The draft law will now go to parliament where it is expected to be approved by an ample majority. Amateur porn films have a properous market in Iran and can fetch up to 30 euros each. The market, tolerated for a long time, became a nationwide issue earlier this year after a porn film of popular television actress, Zohre Mir Ebrahimi, having sex with her partner, was released.

disney channel porn

disney channel pornfrom democratic underground/cbs4: Many New Jersey residents watching the Disney Channel Tuesday morning were outraged after the family-friendly programming turned into a pornographic display.

Jennie Sherman still can't believe what happened while she was watching the show "Handy Manny" with her two twin sons.

"We were just sitting here and the screen just froze and then all of a sudden I saw very graphic pornography on the television and I scrambled to get the remote to shut it off," Sherman told WCBS-TV in New York City.

Sherman said she immediately recorded the X-rated graphic video on her DVR. She then e-mailed wcbstv.com to report the shocking news.

"Basically because I said my husband is not going to believe this," she said. "I was in shock, I pressed record and shut the television off."

Comcast spokesman Fred De'Andrea issued a statement regarding the incident:

At around 9:30 Tuesday morning we had an isolated issue in a local New Jersey Facility. We immediately detected the issue and it was corrected promptly...We apologize to any customer who experienced an issue this morning. We are continuing to investigate the root cause of the incident.

Comcast officials also point out this had nothing to do with the Disney Channel.

"If I was in the kitchen and not with them and this had happened, I would hit the roof I think," Sherman said.

Sherman said she contacted customer service at Comcast and they couldn't tell her if others had complained but they did credit her for a month but she said she is still afraid of turning on her television.

"I am definitely worried to put the Disney Channel on again (or) Comcast again," Sherman said.
