quaids claim corruption keeping them in canada

is there a connection between phonehackers & star-whackers?
quaids claim corruption keeping them in canadafrom ap: Randy Quaid says he would like to return to the United States one day, but he and his wife still fear they are being persecuted by California prosecutors and tabloid media.

Although U.S. officials recently refused to seek extradition of the actor and his wife from Canada to face felony vandalism charges in Santa Barbara, Calif., authorities in the coastal town say they'll still have the couple arrested if they return to the states.

The Quaids, who have missed several court appearances in the case, claim they are the victims of corrupt forces and are demanding an investigation.

"I feel like we've been driven out of the country and that the door's been slammed behind us," Quaid told The Associated Press in a phone interview from British Columbia on Friday. "And for what, these phony little trespassing, vandalism charges? Santa Barbara can sleep better tonight knowing the Quaids are out of their hair."...

Quaid sought asylum, claiming he was being hunted by "Hollywood star-whackers" who had killed his friends Keith Carradine and Heath Ledger...

Drawing parallels with the phone hacking scandal that has engulfed British papers owned by Post parent News Corp., Randy Quaid claims he had discussed many details that were included in the Post piece with his attorney on a cell phone before boarding a flight in New York.

As the plane was about to leave, the Quaids said Post columnist Michael Riedel contacted him about the allegations, which the Quaids believe could have only been revealed if someone had hacked their phone.

The paper rejected the allegation in a statement released to the AP late Friday. "Michael Riedel categorically denies this claim," the paper said in a statement, stating that Quaid has provided no proof he was hacked.

The Quaids say they hope other stars will speak out and that inquiries by U.S. authorities will expose dirty tabloid tactics similar to those surfacing in the U.K. "At least they're outraged in England," Evi Quaid said. "I hope that it crosses to New York and people get angry."

'zionism is stupid' & other incendiary situations

israeli professor proclaims 'zionism is stupid'
israeli professor proclaims 'zionism is stupid'from richard grove: During a recent interview, wherein Professor Shlomo Sand was being interviewed by a colleague of mine; I found myself witnessing a rare opportunity to take an apparent contradiction in history. As a result, herein I offer the data which helps to dissolve the illusions which are the root cause of these contradictions, thereby offering a unifying solution to the apparent schism...

Jan Irvin: "Is Judaism a Race or a Religion, and what do you say to those that claim that it is a Race?"

Prof. Shlomo Sand: "They are stupid, exactly like the anti-Semitics, I think the Zionists that thought in the past that Jewishness is a race, pure or not pure, are stupid - exactly like the anti-Semitics that thought that the Jewish are a Race. All my book is a kind of declaration, that Jewishness cannot be a Race, the origins of most of the Jews is not from Palestine… and most of the Jewish came from conversion."

Note that a few weeks prior to all of this, Irvin published this iconoclastic conversation, with a Rabbi who had presented Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with an award for his goodwill and outstanding relationship with Orthodox Jews living in Iran: “Against Zionism- An Interview with Rabbi Yisrel Dovid Weiss”; therein demonstrating Ahmadinejad to be anti-Zionist, not anti-Semitic.

ground zero lounge: a pirate's lie for ye

archive: clyde lewis & the ground zero lounge - april 2009

download apr20th episode part1 [18mb MP3]

ground zero lounge: a pirate's lie for yefrom clyde lewis: In this Ground Zero Lounge, Clyde Lewis asks his audience to think about the similarities between Pirates and a government that uses disproportionate force to destabilize a country. The recent “we’ll see” attitude towards prosecuting agents of torture from the Obama administration and the policies of “extreme force” towards poor an desperate Somalian pirates is disproportionate. This sets a precedent for the highest hypocrisy.

Almost from out of nowhere this spate of Pirate attacks are gaining the attention of the American media. The Obama administration is grandstanding on its intervention in Somalian waters, However the administration is lacking vision into the bigger picture. The people that get the mainstream narrative in the United States are not getting the whole story either. The reality is that this adulation of the violent policing of “piracy” is an embarrassment for us as a country and a complete exercise in hypocrisy on the part of the Obama administration. This Piracy incident underscores how haphazardly the foreign policy of the United States has not changed and unfortunately we see that policies of “shoot first ask questions later” are put into practice.

The so- called “pirates” propaganda is being used as a smokescreen to invade, destabilize, and control the Horn of Africa. The Pirates are the pretext to justify all means of military invasion in Somalia that could eventually lead to military invasion/intervention in the horn of Africa. The so-called pirates crisis is a struggle between China, America and the West to control the strategic waterways in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

Somalia's strategic position in the Horn of Africa means that any nation that dominates this area will have tremendous control over world trade. The even darker story behind the piracy takes into account CIA transitional puppet governments, illegal dumping in coastal waters and the Toxic aftermath. While piracy is an abhorrent practice, the half truth of Somalian “piracy” is equally despicable. This Ground Zero Lounge will lead you to a remarkable conclusion that twists its direction into the tragedy of ecological disaster on planet earth far more destructive than Global Warming.

geopolitiks: gas emergencies, pirates, nukes & the nau

states of emergency: europe freezes as russia cutsoff gas
from voanews: With freezing temperatures across most of Europe, there was heated anger, especially in Eastern Europe on Wednesday, about the suspension in natural gas deliveries from Russia through Ukraine. The gas crisis comes at a difficult time for leading politicians, especially in Bulgaria, where some 2,000 people demanded the government's resignation on Wednesday over allegations of corruption. The shortages of natural gas from Russia added to anger of protesters who braved the cold in Bulgaria's capital, Sofia, to demand the resignation of the country's Socialist-led government.

tanker-grabbing pirates drown, with bounty
from danger room: The 1,000-foot-long Saudi oil tanker Sirius Star has been released after a ransom was paid, two months after Somali pirates launched a shocking raid to capture the $150-million vessel and its $100-million cargo of crude oil. But in a bizarre twist, five of the newly wealthy hijackers drowned while celebrating their windfall... Later, as the pirates were motoring back to shore in boats, "singing in colorful tone, and exchanging some ridiculous words," one boat capsized and five pirates - who could not swim - drowned.

video: cheney: it doesn’t matter that we haven’t captured bin laden
from thinkprogress: After the 9/11 attacks, President Bush famously declared that he would capture Osama bin Laden “dead or alive.” However, less than a year later — in March 2002 — Bush said that he was “not that concernedabout the al Qaeda leader. Today on CNN’s Late Edition, host Wolf Blitzer asked Vice President Cheney, “How frustrating is this to you personally, knowing he’s [bin Laden] still at large?” Cheney hesitated, then simply replied that he would “obviously…like to solve that problem.” He added that it’s more “important” to “keep…this country safe,” indicating that bin Laden is inconsequential.

mexican collapse & the plan for a north american union
mexican collapse & the plan for a north american unionfrom kurt nimmo: Mike Sunnucks, writing for the Phoenix Business Journal, exposes details of a recent report released by the Pentagon. According to the report, globalization and urbanization will fuel “social unrest, as well as a potential collapse of the Mexican government as that country deals with violence and corruption induced by drug cartels and organized crime.” On the surface, the Joint Operating Environment 2008 report [2.8mb PDF] by the U.S. Joint Forces Command is a self-serving document. It predicts multiple crises “if there are major reductions in U.S. defense spending,” including “terrorist networks obtaining nuclear and biological weapons, as well as instability and aggressiveness involving China, India, Pakistan, India and the Middle East.” On the other hand, the report may be seen as a blueprint for the establishment of a North American Union.

supertanker loaded with oil hijacked by somali pirates

supertanker loaded with oil hijacked by somali piratesfrom danger room: Somali pirates have nabbed their biggest prize yet - a Saudi-owned supertanker, about as big as an aircraft carrier. The ocean-going hijackers managed to pull off this latest assault, on the Sirius Star, despite a swarm of international warships now working to ward off such strikes. "Our presence in the region is helping deter and disrupt criminal attacks off the Somali coast, but the situation with the Sirius Star clearly indicates the pirates’ ability to adapt their tactics and methods of attack," U.S. Vice Adm. Bill Gortney, Commander, Combined Maritime Forces, said in a statement. "Typically, pirates attack within 200 miles of the shoreline and go after smaller prey," the L.A. Times observes. The Star "held a cargo of as much as two million barrels of oil - more than one quarter of Saudi Arabia's daily production," Reuters notes. (That's a picture of her sister ship the, Capricorn Star, above.) It was hit "450 nautical miles southeast of Mombasa, Kenya, was in an area far beyond the Gulf of Aden, where most of the attacks on shipping have taken place." Citizens of Croatia, Great Britain, the Philippines, Poland, and Saudi Arabia are among the Sirius Star's crew of 25.

update: pirates strike again, seize grain ship
from danger room: Somali pirates have struck again, seizing a Hong Kong cargo ship loaded with wheat and bound for Iran. The hijacking of the Delight comes on the heels of the pirates' biggest score yet: a 1080-foot Saudi supertanker, packed with $100 million worth of oil. It's now anchored off of the Somali coast. Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Michael Mullen told reporters he was "stunned" by the capture of the Sirius Star tanker. "These [pirates]... have proven to be pretty capable, can get on and off lots of vessels. I mean, this is a 300,000-ton [vessel] -- three times bigger one of our aircraft carriers." Yesterday, Combined Maritime Forces commander Vice Admiral Bill Gortney told ship-owners that they had to be responsible for their own pirate-defense -- despite the swarm of warships in the region. One Norwegian shipping firm has ordered its vessels to avoid the region entirely, CNN reports.

66 companies want blackwater protection from pirates
from raw replay: In the last twelve days, nine ships have been been hijacked by pirates. The U.S. State Department says that shipping companies need to do more to protect their vessels. 66 shipping companies have approached Blackwater about using their services. Fox’s Jennifer Griffin talked with Blackwater CEO Erik Prince who explained how his company can provide private security services for shipping. This video is from Fox’s Happening Now, broadcast Nov. 20, 2008.
