police state updates: contracts, stockpiles & predictions

company lobbied for ndaa, gets $23m contract for equipment*
company lobbied for ndaa, gets $23m contract for equipmentfrom the intel hub: According to reports from the Daily Kos and Russia Today, a company specializing in night raid equipment was awarded a 23 million dollar contract from the Department of Defense and subsequently went on to lobby for the NDAA which has given the government the power to indefinitely detain American citizens. Surefire LLC openly lobbied for the House version of the NDAA, a bill many have claimed has effectively ended the Bill of Rights, months after receiving the 23 million dollar contact from the DOD. Why would this company be receiving a contract which could outfit at least 30,000 troops with new and updated night raid equipment when the U.S. is supposedly pulling troops out of Iraq and, to a smaller extent, Afghanistan? Why has this same company gone on to lobby for a bill that has turned the United States into a war zone?

pilot refuses naked body scanner & 'pat down'

one pilot's revolt: today's security theater update
pilot refuses naked body scanner & 'pat down'from cnn: A pilot who refused to submit to a full-body scan or the alternative pat down going through airport security said the procedures violate his rights. Michael Roberts, a pilot for ExpressJet Airlines, refused a full-body scan last week at a Transportation Security Administration check point at Memphis International Airport in Memphis, Tennessee.

Opting out of scanning is permitted, but those who opt out must receive an enhanced pat down from a TSA employee. "Pat down is misleading," Roberts said. "They concentrate on the area between ... the upper thighs and torso, and they're not just patting people's arms and legs, they're grabbing and groping and prodding pretty aggressively."

Roberts said TSA security measures are ineffective, and cited concerns for his rights and privacy in refusing the procedures. "I was trying to avoid this assault on my person, and I'm not willing to have images of my nude body produced for some stranger in another room to look at either," Roberts told CNN. The TSA said in a statement that "security is not optional" and any person who refuses security screening is not allowed to fly.

obama proposes $50 billion for road, rail, airways

labor day push for planes, trains & automobiles
obama proposes $50 billion for road, rail, airwaysfrom reuters: President Barack Obama would spend $50 billion on revamping highways, rails and airport runways to create jobs in the near term and improve the long-term U.S. transportation network. The $50 billion would be spent in the first year and be part of a six-year transportation bill that must be passed by Congress, an administration official said. An infrastructure bank would be created under the plan to leverage federal funds with state, local and private funding for important projects.

econocrash: another day, another dollar

US national debt now tops $12 trillion
US national debt now tops $12 trillionfrom afp: The US public debt topped 12 trillion dollars for the first time in history, Treasury officials disclosed Tuesday, moving past a key barrier that raised hackles in Congress. Treasury data showed Monday's outstanding debt at 12.031 trillion dollars, up from 11.999 trillion on Friday. The ballooning debt reflects the massive deficit spending by the government in an effort to revive an ailing economy over more than one year. The public debt topped 10 trillion dollars in September 2008. The debt is quickly approaching the statutory limit of 12.104 trillion dollars, meaning Congress would have to raise the ceiling to prevent a shutdown of government operations.

We may have to sacrifice just two more jobs to get millions back for Americans," DeFazio said.

merciless ikea memoir packs a punch
merciless ikea memoir packs a punchfrom independent: The wholesome Scandinavian image of furniture and lifestyle giant Ikea has been rudely shaken by a new book which claims the company is hostile to foreign employees and uses Stasi-style secret police methods to spy on its thousands of staff worldwide. The explosive charges are made by a former senior Ikea executive Johan Stenebo, a Swede who started working for the company at one of its German outlets outside Hamburg over 20 years ago and rose to a senior management position. He resigned last year. His book, entitled Sanningen om Ikea (The Truth about Ikea), contains wide-ranging allegations about a company which has become a global household name. Justifying the book to Gemany's Der Spiegel magazine, he said: "I did not want to go along with it any more, but I could not stay silent."

senate health bill said to cost $849b over 10yrs
from nytimes: The Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, put forward his version of sweeping health care legislation on Wednesday, which a Senate aide said would cost $849 billion over 10 years. Mr. Reid promised that it would reduce the federal budget deficit while covering most of the uninsured and adding new benefits to Medicare. The senior Senate Democratic leadership aide said the bill’s costs would be more than offset by new taxes and reductions in government spending, particularly on Medicare, so that the legislation would reduce future federal deficits by $127 billion. The official cost analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office was not immediately available, but if the cost projection holds up, it would meet President Obama’s requirement that the bill’s costs be held to about $900 billion. Mr. Reid presented the bill at a meeting with his fellow Democrats. The measure includes a so-called public option allowing people to buy into a new government health insurance plan, but states could opt out of that.

derivatives legislation 'probably written by jpmorgan & goldman'

bank of america, ubs, jpmorgan sued over derivatives
from bloomberg: Bank of America Corp., UBS AG and JPMorgan Chase & Co. were sued by a California public utility over claims they rigged sales of municipal derivatives and shared illegal profits through kickbacks. The lawsuit, filed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, is based on federal and state antitrust claims. It alleges Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America and more than a dozen other banks conspired to pre-select winners of municipal derivative auctions, coordinated their pricing, and accepted kickbacks disguised as fees from co-conspirators... The banks engaged in “allocating customers and markets for municipal derivatives, rigging the bidding process by which municipal bond issuers acquire municipal derivatives, and conspiring to manipulate the terms that issuers received,” according to the lawsuit.

fall of the republic: the presidency of barack h obama

fall of the republic: the presidency of barack h obamafrom paul joseph watson: While the criminals who have hijacked the world financial system continue to pose as saviors and swallow up more power in the name of fixing the very problems that they created, Alex Jones latest documentary blockbuster Fall Of The Republic exposes the real agenda of the financial terrorists who have bankrupted America in their quest for world domination and global serfdom. The majority of Fall Of The Republic is devoted to an in-depth investigation into how the vultures of global corporatism exploited the engineered financial meltdown to begin the step by step implementation of their economic new world order – a parasitical financial system expertly crafted to benefit the elite few while destroying the living standards of the middle class and sinking the planet into a new dark age.

'fall of the republic' exposes how brand obama is destroying america

'fall of the republic' exposes how brand obama is destroying americafrom paul joseph watson: Alex Jones’ highly anticipated upcoming documentary Fall of the Republic: The Presidency of Barack Obama boldly lifts the lid and unveils the fraud behind Brand Obama and how the globalists are using their newest, and slickest ever puppet to destroy the last vestiges of America’s freedom, Constitution and economy, all while helping the bankers loot the country clean.

The film exposes the agenda that Obama was put in place to accomplish, a world government allied with a bank of the world run by globalist eugenicists hell-bent on destroying America’s first world status and replacing it with a hollow shell of tyranny.

The mind control, the television programming, and all the media talking points that serve to reinforce the image of Brand Obama are laid bare, unveiling the naked ruth, as legendary author and documentary film maker John Pilger recently discussed, that Obama is nothing more than a corporate marketing creation, a skilled hypnotist using seductive tools of propaganda – race, gender and class – to hoodwink the masses into accepting his rhetoric while ignoring the contradiction of his actions.

The film exposes how Brand Obama says one thing – to make people buy into the brand – and then the real Obama does another...

Personalities who will appear in the movie include Gerald Celente, Alan Watt, Jesse Ventura, climatologist Tim Ball, economist John Perkins, the Oath Keepers, Dr. Sherry Tenpenny, Webster Tarpley, Bob Bowman, Wayne Madsen and George Humphrey.

Fall of the Republic is an unprecedented two hour romp through the highly concentrated and brazen levels of tyranny and corruption displayed by Obama and his administration in the short period since they took office.

The end of the movie is encapsulated by the idea that the fight to maintain and restore a free Republic is a constant struggle against those who harbor the virus of evil in their souls.

white house drafts executive order to allow indefinite detentions
white house drafts executive order to allow indefinite detentionsfrom raw story: The Obama administration, fearing a battle with Congress that could stall plans to close Guantanamo, has drafted an executive order that would reassert presidential authority to incarcerate terrorism suspects indefinitely, according to three senior government officials with knowledge of White House deliberations. Such an order would embrace claims by former president George W. Bush that certain people can be detained without trial for long periods under the laws of war. Obama advisers are concerned that bypassing Congress could place the president on weaker footing before the courts and anger key supporters, the officials said.

obama issues signing statement on $106b war billfrom the hill: President Obama signed the $106 billion war-spending bill into law Friday, but not without taking a page from his predecessor and ignoring a few elements in the legislation. Obama included a five-paragraph signing statement with the bill, including a final paragraph that outlined his objections to at least four areas of the bill. President George W. Bush was heavily criticized for his use of signing statements, declaring he'd ignore some elements of legislation by invoking presidential prerogative. The Obama administration announced in the statement it would disregard provisions of the legislation that, among other things, would compel the Obama administration to pressure the World Bank to strengthen labor and environmental standards and require the Treasury department to report to Congress on the activities of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"sachs' crash of markets last year was a false flag operation"

US regulators close another 5 banks
from presstv: US regulators have closed five banks, bringing the total of US bank failures to 45 this year as falling home prices take their toll on financial institutions. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC) said the five banks which were closed on Friday were Community Bank of West Georgia and Neighborhood Community Bank in the state of Georgia; Horizon Bank, of Pine City, Minnesota; MetroPacific Bank, of Irvine, California; and Mirae Bank, of Los Angeles. Despite the US government's efforts to drive its economy out of the 18-month-old recession, bank failures have largely increased this year. There were 25 failures in all of 2008 and just three in 2007. Seattle-based lender Washington Mutual was closed in September last year to become the biggest bank to fail in US history.

china argues to replace US dollar
china argues to replace US dollarfrom bbc: China's central bank has reiterated its call for a new reserve currency to replace the US dollar. The report from the People's Bank of China (PBOC) said a "super-sovereign" currency should take its place. Central bank chief Zhou Xiaochuan has loudly led calls for the dollar to be replaced during the financial crisis. The bank report called for more regulation of the countries that issue currencies that underpin the global financial system. "An international monetary system dominated by a single sovereign currency has intensified the concentration of risk and the spread of the crisis," the Chinese central bank said. The dollar fell after the report was released. The US currency dropped 1% against the euro to $1.4088, and declined 0.8% versus the British pound to $1.6848.

could your post office be closing?
from msn: As mail volume declines, the US Postal Service could shutter up to 3,200 post offices and retail outlets. Most people say they understand - unless it's their post office. A rallying cry can be heard across the country, from the swanky streets of New York's SoHo to the tiny town of Randolph, Kan.: "Save our post office!" As the United States Postal Service, weighed down by a crippling multibillion-dollar deficit, shrinks its operations, post offices across the country are on the chopping block. Each year, hundreds of postal operations shutter, but this coming fall could be the single biggest consolidation in Postal Service history. Over the next three months, more than 3,200 post offices and retail outlets - out of 34,000 - will be reviewed for possible closure or consolidation.

econocrash: US has entered 'the greatest depression'

US has entered 'the greatest depression'from paul joesph watson: Trends research analyst Gerald Celente, who has risen in prominence on the back of his deadly accurate economic predictions, says that the collapse of financial markets heralds the start of “The Greatest Depression”.

In his latest Trend Alert bulletin, Celente attacks mainstream pundits who falsely predicted a market bottom and the start of a recovery, noting that conventional analysts have been proven “dead wrong” again and that, “There will be no turn around in the second quarter of 2009 or 2010 or 2011.”

The global financial system, built on endless supplies of cheap money, rampant speculation, fraud, greed, and delusion is terminally ill and will not be coaxed into remission by stimulus packages nor restored to health by government buyouts and bailouts,” writes Celente.

The most positive prediction that Celente makes is that the Dow will not reach zero, a tongue in cheek reaction to yesterday’s record plunge which saw the Dow rolled back to 1997 levels well below 7,000.

Celente warns that the first signs of real panic are starting to set in, unrest that will cause governments to “take draconian measures to prevent total economic collapse and public panic.”

Expect massive bank failures, runs on banks, and bank holidays,” writes Celente. “Even if deposits are FDIC insured, quick access to money is by no means assured. At minimum, have reserves on hand for emergencies,” he forecasts.

Celente cites gold as one of the few investments that will continue to rise in value, eventually reaching $2,000 an ounce and beyond.

Celente’s dire forecasts were initially scoffed at by the media but as the crisis has worsened, his credibility has soared.

Celente, who successfully predicted the 1997 Asian Currency Crisis, the subprime mortgage collapse and the massive devaluation of the U.S. dollar, told UPI in November 2007 that the following year would be known as “The Panic of 2008,” adding that “giants (would) tumble to their deaths,” which is exactly what we have witnessed with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns and others.
