please donate to clyde & check out the new ground zero tv! from clyde lewis: In the meantime, the meme of the grinning bald man with no eyebrows sees you in your dreams and stares at you from the morning paper. He is a reminder of how pressures can rise and burst into acts of violence. How little acts of violence can conjure all sorts of darker thoughts and words. How darker thoughts and words can spark wars. How wars can kill millions. How apologists will tell you that the deaths in war are sacrifices for the greater good. How the end of the world happened with good intentions.
from paul joseph watson: Jared Loughner, the gunman who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and numerous other victims including a Federal Judge and a nine-year-old girl during a political event in Tucson today, was a US military recruit who was obsessed with mind control, mirroring the circumstances of many other mass shooters in history.
Loughner’s You Tube channel contains several rambling text-based videos which discuss his fascination with mind control.
In one of his online rants, Loughner said that he was a “United States Military recruit at MEPS in Phoenix”. Reports suggest that he also may have been deployed to Afghanistan at one point.
The fact that Loughner was part of the US military and yet is being characterized as an anti-government conspiracy nutcase by the establishment media is a complete contradiction. Loughner’s multitude of viewpoints seem to transcend political classification. Watching his You Tube videos, he is clearly a schizophrenic who is obsessed with mind control and other bizarre leftfield issues of minutia.
Loughner’s vulnerable and psychotic profile, combined with his interest in mind control, mirrors other famous assassins such as Mark David Chapman, John Hinckley, as well as Columbine killers Harris & Klebold.
The lefty counterpoint to the righty Glenn Beck hijacked Tea Party types. The lefties may be a little more fun but no less propagandizing. It's breaking us down into two groups that oppose each other as if that's all there is.
But most of us don't actually fit into this false duplicity. We're the ones who don't like Stewart and Obama, Beck and Palin. Using conventional terms we as individuals are a mix of conservative, liberal, moderate, radical or what ever you want to call it. Sort of 'mongrels' that don't fit what the media wants us to be.
A real rally for America would be anti-war, anti-imperialism and most definitely anti-criminal government and anti-wall street/banker syndicate. Basically it would be looking for the truth wherever it leads us. We haven't seen much of that in these controlled for TV gatherings.
Rallies have always been used to manipulate the masses. The crowd cheers "hooray for us" and goes home satiated. A lot of good people want to be involved, a lot of good people fall for the deceptions.
what obama won't say from juan cole: Fellow Americans, and Iraqis who are watching this speech, I have come here this evening not to declare a victory or to mourn a defeat on the battlefield, but to apologize from the bottom of my heart for a series of illegal actions and grossly incompetent policies pursued by the government of the United States of America, in defiance of domestic US law, international treaty obligations, and both American and Iraqi public opinion... We cannot undo what has been done. We cannot pretend that the United States did not violate the United Nations charter and the Geneva Conventions. But we can make amends. We can seek redemption as a nation. And our salvation lies in forswearing permanent war, aggressive war, undeclared war, and police actions as a way of life.
The great unveiling happens on this episode of the New World Next Week as Media Monarchy and The Corbett Report join forces to rip the veil off the spies, saboteurs and infiltrators who are working behind the scenes to undermine our liberties. From the local level to the national to the international, the Feds are putting their agents deep undercover, and we've got the goods to dish the dirt.
from raw story: In the face of several electoral challenges from tea party-connected candidates, Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul cautioned in a recent interview that "neocon influence" is "infiltrating" the movement he is often credited for creating. Speaking to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Tuesday night, Paul first took up for the tea parties as a natural reaction of the people when they are unhappy with government. What they are not, he explained, are entirely adherent to his ideas. Paul suggested that the group only "sometimes" represents his views.
"My message is somewhat different," he said. "The message gets somewhat diluted" with large movements of this nature. "Everybody likes to join what looks like a popular movement, then they want to come in and influence that movement," Paul continued. His core issues, such as creating transparency at the Federal Reserve, recalling overseas soldiers and ending the drug war, are "not what is generally heard from the Republican party," he said.
obama popularity below 50% for first time from afp: President Barack Obama's job approval rating has dipped below 50 percent nationally for the first time, as Americans worry about the war in Afghanistan, a new poll released Wednesday found. The Quinnipiac University poll showed 48 percent of Americans approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president, compared to 42 percent who disapprove. The president also scored low marks from Americans on his handling of the situation in Afghanistan, with just 38 percent saying they approved of his approach, but a majority did say it was the "right thing" for US troops to be in the country.
north korea launches 7 missiles off its east coast, but the threat was made in the USSA - sohappy independence day, US imperialists! from danger room: North Korea defied the U.N. Security Council today by firing off a barrage of ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan. South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, quoting defense sources, said the missiles appeared to be Scud-type missiles with an estimated range of 400 to 500 km; they may have been Rodong missiles, which are essentially a scaled-up version of the Scud design. Earlier this week, an unnamed Pentagon official told American Forces Press Service that North Korea’s launch of four short-range missiles on July 2 were, in part, a bid for international attention. “I think that North Korea is looking for attention, and this is one of the ways that they seek to get attention,” the defense official said. The same strategy seems to be at work today. In this case, the launch of seven missiles looks deliberately timed to coincide with U.S. Independence Day celebrations. It’s reminiscent of the 2006 launch of a Taepodong-2, which also appeared timed to disrupt the Fourth of July. But never mind the Scuds: The North Koreans were not able to pull off a more dramatic publicity stunt, like launching a long-range missile that could (theoretically) reach Hawaii. While there has been speculation about a possible long-range missile test, the Christian Science Monitor notes that there are no reports of new activity around the launch facilities where the North Koreans set up their long-range missiles.
pnac members start new neocon group from raw replay: The Neocons are back. The same Republicans who sold the country on the war in Iraq have formed a new group called the Foreign Policy Initiative, and declaring their last group as “mission accomplished.” Rachel Maddow is joined by thinkprogress.org’s Matt Duss. This video is from MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, broadcast Mar. 31, 2009.
john yoo arrested? wishful april foolin' from infowars: A number of websites are carrying a story claiming that John Yoo, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the United States, was arrested in Milan, Italy, and is being held “for possible extradition to Spain, where he and five other retired officials who served under former President George W. Bush are expected to be indicted by a Spanish court for violations of the Geneva Conventions, the Convention Against Torture, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.”
from collateral news: When a guy with an 'obama monkey' joins a McCain-Palin rally in Johnstown, PA and nobody addresses him you get an idea of what's happening. The clip below shows a cross section of racist remarks throughout the american hinterland.
joe the plumber? more like joe the keating family operative from crooks & liars: I guess it's no wonder John McCain was so happy to use "Joe the Plumber" as a debate prop last night - he's a partisan Republican who also happens to be a member of McCain's old friends, the Keating family.
From Martin Eisenstadt: "Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years."
Now I guess we know why Joe is telling the press that Obama is a "socialist" and that the Obama tax plan "infuriated" him. After all, it would hit families like the Keatings and their minions the hardest. Not to mention that Obama's economic-recovery plan would put the crimps on influence peddlers like McCain's old friends, the Keating Five. But he sure made for a good one-day story.
US officials may have uncovered attempted voter fraud less than a month before US election
white powder causes evacuation of obama office from raw replay: Fox 29 News reported: “There was a scare Tuesday at the South Philadelphia campaign headquarters of Democratic Sen. Barack Obama. The office at 15th and Christian streets was filled with volunteers around 5 p.m. when one of them brought in the mail and opened a letter that had a note and a powdery substance on it that immediately set off alarms... Examining the letter, investigators determined the substance was just harmless brown sugar. The all-clear was given by 5:50 p.m.”
biden routes campaign cash to family, their firms from washington times: Democratic vice-presidential candidate Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. has paid more than $2 million in campaign cash to his family members, their businesses and employers over the years, a practice that watchdogs criticize as rife with potential conflicts of interest. The money largely flowed from the coffers of Mr. Biden's failed presidential campaign during the past two years to a company that employs his sister and longtime campaign manager, Valerie Biden Owens, according to campaign disclosure filings. The senator from Delaware also directed campaign legal work to a Washington lobbying and law firm founded by his son R. Hunter Biden, the disclosures show.
‘barack osama’ appears on hundreds of absentee ballots in ny from thinkprogress: The Albany Times Union reports today that Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-IL) “last name is spelled ‘Osama’ on hundreds of absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County,” New York. Both Democratic and Republican county election officials insist the error was a “honest mistake” and a “typo,” but the paper notes that “the letters ’s’ and ‘b’ are not exactly keyboard neighbors.” During the Democratic primary, Obama’s first name was misspelled on approximately 2000 absentee ballots in Florida.
biden's botox from washington post: Joe Biden looks . . . different. Something about his eyes, which seem smaller, and his forehead, which seems smoother. Compared with images from last year, he seems better rested -- yet also, strangely, a little sleepier... Karen Bradley, a University of Maryland professor who studies politicians' body movement and what it conveys to voters, says it's "a little strange that nothing moves from his eyes on up" -- since she otherwise finds Biden a compelling communicator who powerfully telegraphs his conviction on a topic via other body language. Barry Cohen, a Rockville plastic surgeon, is more blunt. "He clearly has had Botox," the doctor, a Republican, told us. "The lines are gone on his forehead. There is no way makeup or surgery could do that."
obama joined socialist 3rd party in 90s from blogger news: Democratic candidate Barack Obama was a member of the socialist New Party during the 1990s, according to new evidence unearthed by web bloggers, receiving the party’s endorsement for his state Senate run in 1996. Reports earlier this summer that Obama was associated with the New Party were vigorously denied by the Obama campaign and the New Party, but researchers examining Internet archives have found New Party documents clearly indicating Obama was a member of the party, received its endorsement, encouraged Party members to work with him in the Illinois statehouse, and signed a contract agreeing to maintain a relationship with the Marxist-led party during his senate term. The New Party was active in the United States from 1992 to 1998, and was strongly affiliated with Marxist and socialist organizations including the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
obama files to delay discovery in citizenship challenge from total411: Here is the full motion PDF filed by Obama / DNC (1.2mb PDF) Here is the press release from thr people's plaintiff at ObamaCrimes.com: "Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of 'qualifications' to serve as President of the United States, announced today that Obama and Democratic National Committee [DNC] filed a Joint Motion for Protective Order to Stay Discovery Pending a Decision on the Motion to Dismiss (which was) filed on 09/24/08." While legal, Berg stated he is “outraged as this is another attempt to hide the truth from the public; it is obvious that documents do not exist to prove that Obama is qualified to be President.” The case is Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.
did ayers ghostwrite obama's book? from worldnetdaily: Prior to 1990, when Barack Obama contracted to write Dreams From My Father, he had written very close to nothing. As an undergraduate, Obama had written what he justifiably calls some "very bad poetry." He published nothing under his own name in The Harvard Law Review, where he served as an editor and as president. And after leaving Harvard, he published nothing in its review or in any law journal. Then, in 1995, this untested 33 year-old produced what Time Magazine has called - with a straight face - "the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician." The public is asked to believe Obama wrote this on his own. I do not buy this canard for a minute, not at all. In writing a book on intellectual fraud, Hoodwinked, I developed an eye for literary humbug, and Dreams serves up an eyeful.
the obama/weatherman logo from total411: The Obama campaign has taken to designing differentiated versions of its logo for different identity groups. One website, Logobama.com, even offers anyone the chance to design your own Obama logo. Some have commented on the similarity between the logo for the terrorist group the Weathermen (co-founded by Obama's friend Bill Ayers), to the logo for the Obama campaign. We at Total411.info have used the good offices of Logobama.com to create the following Obama/Weatherman hybrid logo, so all the Weathermen supporters of Obama can show their pride. Also check out the unadulterated Obama logo and the Weatherman logo as it appears on the cover of Ayers' book for comparison purposes.
mccain addresses crowd as ‘my fellow prisoners’ from thinkprogress: The Jed Report notes that in a rally today, Sen. John McCain referred to his audience as “my fellow prisoners“: "Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners. And the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent."
olbermann slams mccain’s connections to bonafide eugenicists, racists & fascists from infowars: Partisan Keith Olbermann argues that if Obama is attacked for his connections to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Weatherman William Ayers, then the corrupt connections of John McCain, including bonified racists, fascists and eugenicists, also deserve to come under fire. Olbermann names the U.S. Council for World Freedom and a number of controversial fellow board members connected to McCain.
palin abused power in troopergate firing from ap: Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain's Republican ticket. Investigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report to a bipartisan panel that looked into the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

wwf stagematch, round2: obama & mccain wage counterinsurgency from danger room: Last night's debate was supposed to be all about the economy, or about who had the scummier friends. But more than a few rounds of the showdown in Nashville were devoted to military matters -- specifically, on how best to wage a counterinsurgency in Afghanistan and Pakistan. John McCain repeated his call to broadly use the Iraq blueprint on the Afghan front:
"Now, General Petraeus had a strategy, the same strategy -- very, very different, because of the conditions and the situation -- but the same fundamental strategy that succeeded in Iraq. And that is to get the support of the people."
Obama didn't sound all that much different. He put a bit more emphasis on pouring more troops into Afghanistan, "because our bases and outposts are now targets for more aggressive... Taliban." He talked about "eliminat[ing] some of the drug trafficking that's funding terrorism" there. And he said that Afghanistan's political leaders had to be brought into the process. "You are going to have to do better by your people in order for us to gain the popular support that's necessary," Obama recently told Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
In essence, both Obama and McCain were quoting from the military's now-famous counterinsurgency manual, which talks about the people being the center of gravity for these sorts of campaigns. The old-style bombs-and-bullets operations have their place, of course. But the key to stabilizing a country is allowing the people to lead "normal, social, economic, political lives," as McCain noted.
It's certainly a far cry from the debates of 2000, when then-Governor George W. Bush said, "I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building. I think our troops ought to be used to fight and win war. I think our troops ought to be used to help overthrow [a] dictator when it's in our best interests."
One could even argue that last night represented kind of a capstone victory for the U.S. military's cadre of counterinsurgency-focused thinkers. For years, they've been clashing with the armed forces' more traditional strategists, who think the future of conflict lies in big wars with conventional adversaries. In the debate, both Obama and McCain passed up on the chance to declare a new Cold War with Russia. They were too focused on the insurgency in Afghanistan and Pakistan to bother.
mccain linked to iran-contra, ‘nazi collaborators,’ & ‘right-wing death squads’ from newsbusters: On Tuesday, an Associated Press article featured on MSNBC.com and briefly as a top headline on the popular internet homepage MSN.com was titled: "McCain linked to group in Iran-Contra case." The subtitle read: "Organization had ties to former Nazi collaborators, right-wing death squads." The article attacked a group founded by retired U.S. General John Singlaub: "The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. The group was dedicated to stamping out communism around the globe." The AP appears to be getting its story tips from the Obama campaign, as Boston Globe deputy national political editor, Foon Rhee, reported: "The Obama camp today is sending around reports on Singlaub, founder of the US Council for World Freedom, which was involved in the Iran-Contra scandal during the mid-1980s and was criticized for supposed links to Nazi collaborators and right-wing death squads in Central America." The AP article justified reporting on the tenuous McCain connection by explaining: "McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago."
fbi raids investigates obama's friend's home from washington times: (Editor's note: The original version of this article has been corrected. The office of Larry D. Walsh was not raided.)
The FBI is investigating a former Illinois state senator who is a poker-playing buddy of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama. According to Chicago authorities, the FBI visited the offices in Joliet, Ill., of a Will County auditor to ask questions about Larry Walsh, a longtime friend of Mr. Obama's, and his chief of staff Matt Ryan. Mr. Walsh, who served in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2005, was endorsed by Mr. Obama in his county executive election bid. With the support of some of Mr. Obama's U.S. Senate volunteers, he easily defeated incumbent Republican Joseph Mikan. Will County auditor Steve Weber confirmed that his office had been asked by the FBI to assist in an investigation, but he did not elaborate on the specifics. Two FBI agents out of Chicago reportedly spent more than an hour in the Will County offices on Wednesday morning.
nader challenges obama & mccain to visit mosque before elections from votenader.org: Ralph Nader will be holding a news conference Friday, October 3 at 11 a.m. outside the Grand Mosque Islamic Center in Washington DC where he will challenge Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain to visit a mosque, like they have churches and synagogues, before the November election as a show of respect and tolerance. Nader recently wrote a letter to Obama and McCain asking the men to act on such a request.
“As you know, discriminatory acts against Muslim-Americans have soared in recent years. They emanate from stereotyping, ethnic profiling, bigotry and, unfortunately, actions by some local, state & federal officials. The documentation is broad and deep on this unfortunate situation that spreads fear and anxiety among millions of Muslim-Americans… Out of respect for Muslim-Americans who have served in all the dimensions of our society from the professions to the armed forces, from the trades to the arts and sciences, from blue collar to white collar work, while raising their children to surpass their own achievements as befits the American horizon, we urge you to visit a Mosque before November 4, 2008.”
satire video: gunman kills 15 potential swing voters from the onion: The Obama campaign is cautiously optimistic after initial reports indicated that most of the people killed were registered Republicans.
from kansas city star: A two-state solution is needed, Sarah Palin says in talking about the future of Israel. A McCain-Palin administration would work with Israel. Joe Biden said he was Israel's biggest friend. And he called President Bush's policy had been a horrible "failure." It has not kept the peace, Biden accurately noted. In fact, he said, the enemies of Israel have been strengthened by the Bush administration's failures. Palin, asked if the administration had failed Israel, said no. But it's good that "we both love Israel," Palin pointed out, almost needlessly. Palin then went into a riff on America's future, saying, "Change is coming." What in the world is she talking about? Biden again pounced, saying he had not heard how McCain's policy "would be any different" from the policies of Bush toward Israel, Pakistan and other countries.
