from nj star-ledger: The eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is a month away and some survivors of those lost believe it's a good time to renew an investigation into the events of that disastrous day. New York City disagrees. "We know we never have learned the truth, it's as simple as that," says Lorie Van Auken of East Brunswick, one of the most ardent supporters of the creation of the 9/11 commission in 2002. It was headed by former New Jersey governor Thomas H. Kean. "Members and staff of the 9/11 commission have said many of the questions raised by the attacks have never been answered."

from kurt nimmo: Increasingly, Google and its properties - the vastly popular video site YouTube and equally popular Blogger - are tools for shutting down opposition to the government. On the weekend, Google removed an Alex Jones video critical of Obama’s policies. Google classified the video as “hate speech” because the corporation allegedly received complaints the content of the video was racist. In the video, Alex appears as “Obama the Joker,” as depicted in a now infamous street art poster. Google also shut down the blog of Sibel Edmonds last week. Edmonds is a former FBI translator and founder of the National Security Whistleblowers Coalition. Edmonds is fighting efforts by the FBI and the Department of Justice to prevent her from testifying in a case of alleged election fraud. Edmonds is scheduled to testify before the Ohio Elections Commission and both the Department of Justice and the FBI are attempting to halt her from testifying. On July 31, Edmonds told the Mike Malloy Show the U.S. government had “intimate relations” with Osama bin Laden right up to the day of the attacks in New York on September 11, 2001. “These ‘intimate relations’ included using Bin Laden for ‘operations’ in Central Asia, including Xinjiang, China. These ‘operations’ involved using al Qaeda and the Taliban in the same manner ‘as we did during the Afghan and Soviet conflict,’ that is, fighting ‘enemies’ via proxies,” reported the Brad Blog. In an email sent today, Edmonds writes about Google blocking her Blogger account. “My Blog Site http://123realchange.blogspot.com is now blocked by Google’s Blogger. They will not let me post during this most sensitive period, when I am about to provide deposition on Foreign US government illegal operations in the United States!”

John McNamara, 44, spent 10 years with the FDNY and was diagnosed with colon cancer in the aftermath of his time at Ground Zero. McNamara spent about 500 hours looking for his fallen brethren at the site where the World Trade Center once stood, and his plight was part of a documentary called "Save the Brave," which chronicled the lives of ailing rescue workers. McNamara, who was assigned to Ladder 123 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, also joined the FDNY's rescue mission to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. He became ill in June 2006 and the cancer spread to his liver and stomach. Though gravely ill, he spent his remaining years fighting for better testing and health benefits for firefighters who worked at Ground Zero. "We take comfort in knowing this hero no longer suffers," said John Feal, head of an advocacy group for Sept. 11th responders. McNamara is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and 2-year-old son, Jack.

from dpa: Amidst recovery efforts for the remains of 50 victims of an icy New York airplane crash, investigators Sunday said the aircraft was on autopilot, a violation of suggested guidelines when icing on the wings is a danger but in keeping with legal requirements. Steve Chealander, spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) described in broadcast remarks the sickening pitch and roll of Continental Express flight 3407 in its last 26 seconds before it crashed into a house outside Buffalo, New York, on Thursday night, killing all 48 passengers and crew and one person in the house. The information was gleaned from the flight data recorder recovered from the wreckage... "The flight manual for the Dash 8-Q400 craft advises that the auto- pilot be disengaged during 'severe icing conditions," Chealander said. "What we've seen thus far (has not indicated) it was severe icing."

Lorie Van Auken, a leader of September 11th Advocates, a group headed by four New Jersey women who lost their husbands in the attacks, called the meeting "impressive," saying Obama gave detailed answers to their questions and allayed many of their concerns. She said the president did not rule out some form of military commissions in the future and acknowledged shortcomings in dealing with terrorism suspects in regular criminal courts. "He acknowledged this was quite a mess and it really needed to be looked at by his legal team and by him," said Van Auken, whose husband, Kenneth Van Auken, was killed in the World Trade Center and whose group supports closing Guantanamo Bay. "I think everybody recognized, no matter which side of the issue they're on, that this is a quagmire that will not be solved easily."

Mindy Kleinberg, another member of the group, said Obama also made clear that "nobody is just going to get freed by the closing of Guantanamo. I think the point was that you have to make sure they have a system in place that can actually work," said Kleinberg, whose husband, Alan Kleinberg, also died in the World Trade Center. "I think even the people who came to the meeting who wanted to keep it open could understand his point of view."

UPDATE2: Upon further review, it looks as if this was reported a few minutes after the actual collapse at 5:20 PM, so it might not have been a live shot. So it isn't as damning as the BBC and CNN clips are, but it is still strong evidence indicating that someone was feeding the media with the structural damage story in advance. The fact that they were parroting the official story of the WTC-7 collapse minutes after the event is ridiculous even after they watched the building come down at free fall speed.

UPDATE: I might have rushed to get this out a bit too quickly last night without verifying the time stamp on the clip. I'll review the archives again and double check to see if the timestamp matches up with the actual building collapse. The thumbnails indicate that this might have been reported a few minutes past 5:20 PM EST. If it doesn't match up with the actual time of the event than they might have been looking at a taped version of the collapse. Either way, there is no disputing the BBC and CNN clips of foreknowledge and there is no doubt that Fox-5, the BBC and CNN were being fed the same information for the cover story of the collapse. Even if they are watching a taped version, it is ridiculous that they already had a prepared report that mirrors the official story of the collapse minutes right after the building fell.

Video footage straight from the September 11th, 2001 Internet archives shows the news anchors from Fox’s Washington DC affiliate Fox-5 reporting that a 47-story building had collapsed in downtown New York City and just moments later their own video footage shows the same building they said already collapsed, collapse at free fall speed. from raw story: A group composed of widows of 9/11 victims are demanding the release of a key CIA report.

"The report, prepared by the CIA's inspector general, is the only major 9/11 government review that has still not been made publicly available," Michael Isikoff reported in January. "When it was completed in August 2005, Newsweek and other publications reported that it contained sharp criticisms of former CIA director George Tenet and other top agency officials for failing to address the threat posed by Al Qaeda, as well as other mistakes that might have prevented the attacks."

In a statement obtained by Raw Story, September 11th Advocates Patty Casazza, Monica Gabrielle, Mindy Kleinberg, and Lorie Van Auken write:

"Almost six years have passed since the attacks of September 11, 2001, yet critical information continues to be withheld from the American public regarding the attacks.

In 2002, after reviewing the evidence produced by the Joint Inquiry of Congress into the 9/11 Attacks, both Republican and Democratic Congressmen agreed that a CIA Inspector General review into individual responsibility was necessary... Faced with the facts, these Congressmen understood that accountability in the Intelligence Community was crucial.

'rescue me' star comes out on 9/11

from 9/11 blogger: Daniel Sunjata, co-star of the critically-acclaimed FX Network television series, Rescue Me, spoke out today for 9/11 Truth. In a lengthy statement to the PatriotsQuestion911.com website, Sunjata offered his thoughts about how a small group within our military and government could have been complicit in the terrible events of 9/11.

Sunjata is a versatile actor who received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor for his starring role in the Broadway play, Take Me Out. He appeared in Woody Allen's 2004 film, Melinda and Melinda and in the 2006 movie The Devil Wears Prada with Meryl Streep. He plays the starring role of Reggie Jackson in the upcoming ESPN mini-series, The Bronx is Burning.

Here's Sunjata's statement:

"I would like to respond to the question, 'How could a small group within our military and government have been complicit in the terrible events of 9/11 without the entire government being aware of it?'

My response is that the whole government would not have to be in on the alleged conspiracy for the following reason; our government is a hierarchy in which compartmentalization of knowledge is a given. As suggested by the symbol of the pyramid, the tier below does not necessarily know everything that the tier above knows, and the tiers above that are privy to even more sensitive and 'classified' intelligence and so on. Even within common tiers you see this compartmentalization where 'the left hand knows not what the right hand is doing.'

Sounds dark and conspiratorial but that's the fact. In fact it is the official excuse given by the establishment for how such a thing as 9/11 could have happened on their watch...

For instance, the NORAD and FAA air-traffic controllers could well have been ignorant of the alleged plot, yet innocently participated in its being carried out. The commonly accepted stance of those urging for a truly independent reinvestigation of 9/11, is that it is a rogue faction within our government and military who hatched and perpetrated this unholy atrocity through the agency of our ISI funded assets like Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda (ISI is the Pakistani version of our CIA, created and funded by our CIA).

One strong piece of evidence in this regard (albeit circumstantial, though one would expect that FEMA, NIST and The 9/11 Commission would have probed this with duly diligent scrutiny) is the fact that India's press and subsequently the FBI both reported that Mohammed Atta had received a $100,000.00 money transfer from the head of Pakistani ISI, Chief Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmed, three days before the attack. Also General Ahmed was in the U.S. from approximately Sept 9th to Sept. 13th (DURING THE ATTACK) meeting with (among others) George J. Tenet, the then CIA Director, and Porter Goss, the future Director of the CIA.

Isn't it reasonable to subpoena General Ahmed and those he secretly met with during the 9/11 attacks and question them under oath regarding the substance of their discussions and the nature of their relationships? Especially given the public record of ISI's dealings with and funding of known terrorist organizations, one of which happens to be Al Qaeda, and the revelation of the general's $100,000 'donation' just before the murder of 2972 souls?

It is the avoidance of such obvious questions as these, of which there are literally hundreds (most of them posed by The Family Steering Committee during the 9/11 Commission's so called investigation) which begs greater scrutiny of the official story. When a 7 year old girl is found raped and dead in the cellar of her family home, as painful and politically incorrect as it may be to question and treat as suspects the parents who claim to have been sleeping soundly during the rape and strangulation of their loved one... such protocols are standard procedure in homicidal investigations.

Shouldn't the same protocols be followed in the case of domestic mass slaughter, where a government who claims to have been asleep at the wheel during the said atrocity is partially staffed and run by people who have published a document outlining a 30 year plan for global economic and military hegemony and 'full spectrum dominance' characterized by a permanent military presence in the middle east and cheap access to that regions oil reserves? Especially when the same document states that 'this process of transformation is likely to be a long and arduous one, absent some cataclysmic and catalyzing event like A NEW PEARL HARBOR?'

Speaks to possible motive, no? I say yes. What say you?

from new york post: A group of 9/11 victims' families who have criticized Rudy Giuliani's record vowed yesterday to reveal the "truth" of his performance during the terror attacks.

The angry words came after The Post reported that supporters of Giuliani have started discussions with 9/11 family members about backing him in a 2008 White House race.

His moves may be an attempt to head off criticism from relatives like Sally Regenhard, the mother of a late firefighter who vowed months ago to make "Swiftboat"-type criticisms of the ex-mayor.

"I can't see why any 9/11 family member who knows the truth about the failures of the Giuliani administration . . . would not be outraged about the failures," said Regenhard.

She co-founded a group called the Skyscraper Safety Campaign and heckled Giuliani when he testified at 9/11 commission hearings in 2004. She has long blamed Giuliani for communications failures, including faulty radios, at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

"My role, and the role of other family members, will be to bring this truth to light," she said.

Regenhard said she didn't want a fight with other victims' relatives, but said, "If these family members knew the truth about the failures of this administration... they would reconsider support for someone like him."

Giuliani gained renown for his calming voice and handling of the recovery effort immediately after the attacks. That fame launched him as a national figure and a GOP star.

On Tuesday, Lee Ielpi - a former firefighter who lost his son on 9/11 - said he had approached a Giuliani aide about supporting the former mayor in 2008. Asked how he would respond if other families criticized Giuliani, Ielpi said, "I would address their questions to the best of my ability without having a conflict . . . with other family members."

Giuliani spokeswoman Sunny Mindel said, "We have received a lot of calls from people from all walks of life and from all parts of the country who support Rudy."

Monica Gabrielle, who works with Regenhard and lost her husband on 9/11, said Giuliani is "riding on a myth that he created, and if he were truly a leader, he would have discussed the [communications] failures."

But she said she had no issue with his supporters discussing the presidential race with any 9/11 family members.

Lorie Van Auken was one of the "Jersey Girls" who helped push for the creation of the 9/11 commission, which examined the intelligence failures leading up to the attacks. She said she has no plans to try to counter Giuliani's positive publicity.

"I am not planning anything yet, but I wouldn't be averse to making my opinion clear," said Van Auken, who has strongly criticized Giuliani.
