from corbett report: The Mohammed Junaid Babar story has put 7/7 back in the news, and the 7/7 inquest is due to wrap up hearings next week, insuring a new wave of attention on the London bombings. But what has been answered by the inquests so far, and what new questions have been raised? Join us this week as we talk to Tom Secker and Keelan Balderson about the state of 7/7 truth and how concerned citizens can move ahead in the pursuit of 7/7 justice.
• The “roving wiretap” provision allows the FBI to obtain wiretaps from a secret intelligence court, known as the FISA court (for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act), without identifying the target or what method of communication is to be tapped.
• The “lone wolf” measure allows FISA court warrants for the electronic monitoring of a person for whatever reason — even without showing that the suspect is an agent of a foreign power or a terrorist. The government has said it has never invoked that provision, but the Obama administration said it wanted to retain the authority to do so.
• The “business records” provision allows FISA court warrants for any type of record, from banking to library to medical, without the government having to declare that the information sought is connected to a terrorism or espionage investigation.

Considering the media hype surrounding the fifth anniversary of 9/11, the fifth anniversary of 7/7 doesn't seem to have attracted much attention... I guess the reason they are not giving it much attention is because they don't want people to look into it. It is after all one of the the most suspicious terror attacks in recent history.
from independent: Police and the MI5 spy agency likely missed chances to identify the key men behind the 2005 London bombings, but could have done little more to halt the attacks given their limited resources, lawmakers said today. A detailed report into what was known before the attacks, which killed 52 people on three subway cars and a bus, reveals how one of the bombers was tracked by intelligence officers as early as 2001. Two of the men were repeatedly spotted with other terrorists in 2004, but never properly identified, the report concludes.
The inquiry, by Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee, makes the alarming disclosure that in 2004, MI5 had poor or no surveillance of 60 per cent of suspected terrorists. Only 6 per cent of suspects were adequately kept under surveilance, the lawmakers' report said. Jonathan Evans, head of MI5, estimates there are around 2,000 known terrorists operating in Britain. Officials estimate there are likely thousands more unknown to authorities.
As we highlighted, the “crisis management expert” revealed that some companies used the shut down of the city of London on Wednesday, during the G20 protests, as a dress rehearsal for an influenza pandemic.
In response to an explanation of who Peter Power is, which was added by the Uncensored Magazine blog, Mr Power himself posted a lengthy statement in which he reveals that the company he was working with on 7/7 was London based information giant Reed Elsevier.
The company is most notable for its ownership of the Lexis/Nexis legal database, as well as many other information sources. As Elsevier, it runs a vast number of science journals, including some of the biggest and most reputable ones. Reed is also known as a host of large exhibitions. The company part owns the ExCel Centre in London’s Docklands area, where the G20 summit was held this past weekend...
update: uk police ordered to release 7/7 footage from itn: Police have been ordered to release footage of the July 7 bombers after a three-year freedom of information battle. The video shows the terrorists chatting, putting on rucksacks and buying snacks on their way to carry out suicide bombings that killed 52 innocent people in London. In chilling scenes, Hasib Hussain is also seen shopping for a battery and stopping at McDonald's as he struggles to make his device work after the other bombs have been detonated. The footage was described in detail in the Home Office's Narrative report, which was published the year after the devastating 2005 attacks. But very little of the material has so far been made available to the public. The Information Commissioner overruled objections from Scotland Yard that disclosure could disrupt its investigations, and ordered that seven pieces of footage should be released. The force has 35 days to either appeal or disclose the material. Three of the bombers detonated their devices almost simultaneously at 8.50am, Lindsay under King's Cross, Mohammad Sidique Khan at Edgware Road, and Shehzad Tanweer at Aldgate. Hussain set off his bomb on a bus in Tavistock Square at 9.47am. The Commissioner ruled that the faces of anyone other than the bombers should be pixelated in the footage.
terrorists working for western countries from nafeez ahmed: It came to my attention that a senior correspondent, Kristin Aalen, working for a national Norwegian broadsheet - Stavanger Aftenbladet(Stavanger Evening News) - just recently printed a detailed article in the newspaper on Western covert operations sponsoring al-Qaeda after the Cold War... based almost entirely on my research in The War on Truth: 9/11, Disinformation and the Anatomy of Terrorism. Entitled "Terrorists Working for Western Countries" (24.11.08), it even gives a country-by-country summary breakdown complete with a handy geopolitical world map of the wide arc of these operations. It's a very useful piece from a mainstream national European paper that very effectively summarizes the thrust of my research into this unpalatable subject. A shame that the British press is so reticent about such issues. There are some caveats. Kristin sometimes oversimplifies my geopolitical explanations, and this can lead to serious misinterpretations, such as her rendition of my examination of Pentagon sponsorship of al-Qaeda fighters in the Balkans - she says that the US and NATO helped the Bosnian Muslims against the Serbs, provoking them, and thus preventing peace. This is caricature of my argument, which is more fully fleshed out in The London Bombings: An Independent Inquiry.
'rogue' trader highlights possible 9/11 & 7/7 insider trading from steve watson: According to an article in The London Times today, Société Générale rogue trader Jérôme Kerviel profited enormously on the day of the 7/7 London bombings. He has also revealed how his company made huge profits on September 11th 2001, prompting some to return to questions over insider foreknowledge of both terrorist attacks: “The best trading day in the history of Société Générale was September 11, 2001... At least, that’s what one of my managers told me. It seems that profits were colossal that day... I had a similar experience during the London attacks in July 2005.” Kerviel was charged almost exactly one year ago in the Société Générale trading loss incident which cost the financial services company an estimated €4.9 billion. Until the Bernard Madoff fraud incident last month, it was reported to be the largest fraud in banking history.
yet another military exercise occurring on 9/11 uncovered from 9/11 blogger: When it seems impossible to discover additional shady military exercises occurring Sept. 11, 2001, there comes along yet another investigator uncovering secret documents pointing to unprecedented military actions happening the same day.
National Security Archive senior fellow Jeffrey T. Richelson is reporting in his new book, "Defusing Armageddon: Inside NEST, America's Secret Nuclear Bomb Squad," that the U.S. nuclear bomb squad, known as the Nuclear Emergency Search Team, was out of the country on its first foreign deployment since 1998, at a British air base in the Cotswolds, on Sept. 11 as part of Operation Jackal Cave.
According to the book, the exercise involved more than 500 personnel, 62 aircraft, 420 short tons of cargo, the CIA and a special operations force that would seize a mock nuclear device that the NEST squad would disable.
The after-action report from the deployment, ""DOE EXERCISE 03-01 JACKAL CAVE" notes the early termination of the exercise because of the attacks, but finds useful "strengths and weaknesses" including the need to "[i]ssue secure international cell phones to control members and team leaders."
The heavily redacted report created in 2003 and prepared for the Department of Energy's Office of Emergency Response by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education gives only hints of the exercise, including continuing training and exercises between the Department of Energy's Joint Technical Operations Teams (JTOT) and the Army's 21st Ordnance Company (EOD) to "enhance command and control relationships."
Morris is also quoted in a story printed in the Swindon Advertiser in South West England in an article dated Aug. 30, 2001 in which he describes RAF Fairford, a former wartime base, hosting a major United States European Command sponsored training exercise between September 5 and 18. Morris said Fairford would be used as a transit point for the exercise.
The existence of these training exercises proves that official claims that the events of September 11 were unimaginable have been false. However, future investigations of 9/11 will need to determine whether these exercises served a more nefarious purpose. For example, might they have been intended as a smokescreen for rogue individuals working within the military and other government agencies who were involved in planning the attacks? Thus, if colleagues overheard these individuals discussing matters such as planes hitting the World Trade Center or crashing into the Pentagon, they could have claimed they were simply talking about a forthcoming training exercise.
lost mi5 fax could have stopped 7/7 from daily mail: A chance to stop the 7/7 bombers may have been missed when a secret services fax to police went missing. A damning report is expected to reveal that the MI5 document, sent to West Yorkshire police, raised suspicions about ringleader Mohammed Sidique Khan and accomplice Shehzad Tanweer.
from bbc: Hundreds of people crowded into King's Cross station to remember the 52 people killed in the 7/7 suicide bombings in London three years ago. Minister for London Tessa Jowell and London Mayor Boris Johnson laid flowers there at 0850 BST, the time the first three bombs exploded.
how 7/7 changed britain from khaleej times: On the eve of the third anniversary of the 7/7 bombings, Channel 4's Dispatches returns to one of its favourite subjects - Muslims. The programme, called It Shouldn't Happen to a Muslim, looks at how life has changed for Muslim families in the UK since 9/11. It recounts vicious stories of horrific, racist brutality against Muslims, not the extremist ones, but the ordinary, law-abiding ones; stories that are rarely reported in the Press.
alleged hijacker booked post-9/11 flights from paul joseph watson: Astounding newly released FBI documents (3.98mb PDF) obtained via the Freedom Of Information Act show that alleged 9/11 hijacker Hamza Al-Ghamdihad booked future flights to San Francisco and Riyadh, suggesting that he wasunaware of his eventual fate aboard United Airlines Flight 175, the plane that hit the World Trade Center's south tower.
9/11 redux: 1,000s of illegals in US flight schools from abc: Thousands of foreign student pilots have been able to enroll and obtain pilot licenses from U.S. flight schools, despite tough laws passed in the wake of the 9/ll attacks, according to internal government documents obtained by ABC News. "Some of the very same conditions that allowed the 9-11 tragedy to happen in the first place are still very much in existence today," wrote (519kb PDF) one regional security official to his boss at the TSA, the Transportation Security Administration.
'lone gunmen' producer questions gov't on 9/11 from corbett report: Cast and crew of the X-Files attended "WonderCon 2008" in San Diego this weekend to discuss the upcoming X-Files movie. During the question and answer, one intrepid audience member asked Chris Carter, creator of X-Files and The Lone Gunmen, about the pilot episode of The Lone Gunmen, which eerily predicted the events of 9/11 that took place in New York mere months after the episode aired on tv. Carter, looking slightly flustered, turned the question over to the Lone Gunmen producer, Frank Spotnitz.
flight 93 memorial a tribute to terrorists? from news blaze: The rewriting of 9/11 started almost before the fires stopped smoldering in New York, D.C., and Pennsylvania. It hasn't stopped. And nowhere is it more offensive than in the effort to build memorials to the victims of that horrific terrorist attack. The New York City memorial almost became not a tribute to heroes, but a "Freedom Center," tasked with showing how the United States brought 9/11 on itself, and how peace, love, and the hug-a-terrorist philosophy could avoid other such attacks in the future.
video: bill clinton confronted with 9/11 truth, again! from blacklisted news: Bill Clinton Responded to an "Investigate 9/11" sign during an Austin Rally. As mobs of people in the crowd shouted for the sign to be put down - and still others tore the 9/11 sign away - Clinton told the crowd, "It's an honor to be heckled by people who are afraid of the truth." True doublespeak.
sick 9/11 workers rally in rainy dc for more help from ny daily news: Chanting "$25 million isn't enough!" dozens of sick 9/11 first responders stood in the rain on Capitol Hill Tuesday and urged President Bush to restore funding to help pay their medical bills. Joseph Zadroga, whose son James died of lung disease after working 100 hours at the site for the NYPD, said the government needs to help those who helped the city get back on its feet after the towers fell.
video: "unter falscher flagge"
from 9/11 blogger: The German documentary, "Unter Falscher Flagge" has now been subtitled in English, and is streaming at the film-maker's website... It is filled with new interviews with German 9/11 skeptics Andreas von Bülow, Mathias Bröckers, Manfred Petrisch, Andreas Hauss, and Jochen Scholz. The film also briefly examines London's 7/7 and several possible False Flag incidents in post-9/11 Germany...
"9/11 may have been an insider's job" from unique pakistan: In a significant observation many time UN contributor & international observer Professor Hans Koechler said “9/11 may have been an insider’s job” in response to a question from one of the delegates attending his lecture The 'Global War on Terror - Contradictions of an Imperial Strategy' last night at the Trades Hall in Auckland. “I am not a boy - I am 59. There are many inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the official version of events. Those who could not handle a Cessna pulled off 9/11,” he said.
from paul joseph watson: The managing director of the company that eerily, and some charge suspiciously, were running drills identical to the events that unfolded on 7/7 in London had to flee from members of We Are Change UK this week when he was asked to explain who had hired his consultancy firm to run the exercise that coincided with the bombing.
Peter Power, head of Visor Consultants, was a former Scotland Yard official, working at one time with the Anti-Terrorist Branch.
from paul joseph watson: The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy, according to Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.
This alarming admission can be found right at the end of a long and academic Toronto Star article about the history of conflict and why the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are doomed.
"The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), is the military academy of the Canadian Forces and is a full degree-granting university," according to Wikipedia.
The Star article discusses a new study which surmises that military invasions since World War 2 that require cooperation of the population of a country to succeed hold only a 17% chance of success.
In a paraphrased quote attributed to Delaney, he concludes that "The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago."
"If nothing happens, it will be harder still to say this is necessary," adds Delaney.
