Republican Mark Cole, a member of Virginia’s House of Delegates, is sponsoring legislation that would prevent employers or insurance companies from forcing people to get implants because he thinks the microchips could amount to the Antichrist’s “mark of the beast” mentioned in the Bible. “My understanding - I’m not a theologian - but there’s a prophecy in the Bible that says you’ll have to receive a mark, or you can neither buy nor sell things in end times,” Cole told The Washington Post. “Some people think these computer chips might be that mark.” Some of Cole’s colleagues in the Virginia legislature have been left shaking their heads over the idea. Democrat Robert Brink compared the concern to the likelihood of asteroids striking the earth or giant alligators roaming underground sewers. He also said that California’s legislature passed a similar ban, and that alone was reason enough for Virginia to avoid doing the same thing. “If Virginia is starting to use California as our legislative role model, it’s a sign that our legislative apocalypse has arrived,” Brink told the Free Lance-Star. Nevertheless, Cole’s bill was approved by the House of Delegates last week.

The New Economics Foundation claimed in a report the reduction in hours would help to ease unemployment and overwork. The think tank said people were working longer hours now than 30 years ago even though unemployment was at 2.5 million. The foundation admitted people would earn less, but said they would have more time to carry out worthy tasks. They would have better scope to look after children or other dependants, there would be more opportunity for civic duties, and older people could even delay retirement, it said.

"The scenario itself is secret," said Eileen McMenamin, vice president of communications for the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), which is hosting the event dubbed "Cyber ShockWave." "The participants don't even know what it is," McMenamin told AFP. "None of them know what's going to transpire." For Cyber ShockWave, a room at the Mandarin Hotel here is being transformed into the White House Situation Room, where the president and his top advisers typically meet to address national emergencies. "We'll have all of these different screens with different information coming in," McMenamin said. "The members of the cabinet are going to have to react in real time as they would in real life."

This execution would be based solely on assumption that the citizen is a threat to national security. This would be carried out with no arrest, or trial, or conviction, just execution on suspicion only. Plain and simple the police state has now advanced to policies that are similar to Salin’s Russia. The executive branch has assumed the right to murder Americans who it deems a “threat.” They allegedly won’t kill you on American soil—but take a step out of the United States and the intelligence community can wipe you out, if they see you as a threat to the country. Where does it end really? The idea that you can be killed anywhere by your own government demonstrates the grandeur of the police state and how it goes unchallenged by Americans who see it as a necessary evil against terrorism. The policies of overseas assassinations being carried over to the states is probably not a far reach. Americans have already been killed for their beliefs from the incidents at Waco to Ruby Ridge to the Black Panthers a dark side to police state activity exists and persists. To execute anyone without a trial takes away their constitutional right of due process. This is what goes on during a police state. If this is your first one – then I welcome you.

Bartkowicz, confident of his compliance with state laws, boasted of its size and profitability. "I'm definitely living the dream now," he told 9News. The following day, the dream was over. Drug-enforcement agents raided his home, placed him under arrest, and carried off dozens of black bags of marijuana plants and growing lights. The Obama administration promised in October that the federal government would respect state laws allowing the growing and selling of marijuana for medicinal use, but the Drug Enforcement Agency sent a loud message with the arrest of Bartkowicz.

from ap: Charlie Wilson, the fun-loving Texas congressman whose backroom dealmaking funneled millions of dollars in weapons to Afghanistan, allowing the country's underdog mujahedeen rebels to beat back the mighty Soviet Red Army, died Wednesday. He was 76. Wilson died at Memorial Medical Center-Lufkin after having difficulty breathing after attending a meeting in the eastern Texas town where he lived, said hospital spokeswoman Yana Ogletree. Wilson was pronounced dead on arrival, and the preliminary cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest, she said.

What they are not, he explained, are entirely adherent to his ideas. Paul suggested that the group only "sometimes" represents his views.
