fox tries to link kerry to 9/11 conspiracy theorists

fox tries to link kerry to 9/11 conspiracy theoristsfrom newshounds: FOX News tried to paint Senator John Kerry as a 9/11 conspiracy theorist last night. Based on a brief statement Kerry made about the controlled demolition of a wall at one of the World Trade Center buildings, FOX tried to make the case that the 9/11 conspiracy theorists had bonded with him... At the beginning of the show, a chyron read, "The crazies love him" as Sean Hannity announced the upcoming Kerry segment.

During the actual discussion in the video below, the chyron read, "9/11 Conspiracy theorists jump on comments by Senator Kerry." Unfortunately, for the FOX News producers, neither host gave much credence to their premise.

Alan Colmes read the introduction to make it clear that Kerry was not a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. "The 9/11 conspiracy wingnuts are it again. This time, they are spinning the words of Senator John Kerry to suggest that the former presidential nominee in some way endorses those conspiracy theories."

I suspect Colmes was angry at the foundation for the discussion. How else to explain his unusually boorish and demeaning treatment of guest Webster Tarpley, author of a 9/11 conspiracy book? I’m no conspiracy theorist and I applaud Colmes’ effort to debunk the hyped-up connection between Kerry and Tarpley, but the one who came out looking irrational, in my view, was Colmes.

Colmes started off contemptuous toward Tarpley but within the first minute became downright hostile and insulting. "To claim that somehow John Kerry supports your cockamamie theories is absolutely insane," Colmes said in a raised voice.

Tarpley said he wanted nothing to do with John Kerry who, Tarpley claimed, is "a dilettante, an oligarch, he’s a rich elitist, his wife with her foundations..."

Colmes interrupted and said derisively, "Stop the cheap shots. You’re making cheap shots now."

Frankly, I don’t think Colmes was in a position to be complaining about Tarpley taking cheap shots. Colmes borrowed a page out of Hannity’s playbook and accused Tarpley (without any evidence) of "further hurting the families who have suffered enough because of 9/11, to have to sit and listen to this garbage you’re putting out." Colmes went on to cite a Popular Mechanics article analyzing what caused the collapse. "That’s what caused it to come down, not some kind of crazy, government theory to hurt the American people."

By contrast, Hannity seemed polite and reasonable, despite the fact that Hannity told Tarpley he was living "in a paranoid, conspiratorial world."

hitler's 'amerika bomber'

update: "Your video "Hitler's 'Amerika Bomber'" was rejected because it didn't comply with our Program Policies."

hitler's 'amerika bomber'from google video: The Amerika Bomber project was an initiative of the Reichsluftfahrtministerium, the Nazi Germany Air Ministry, to obtain a long-range bomber aircraft for the Luftwaffe that would be capable of striking the continental United States from Germany. Requests for designs were made to the major German aircraft manufacturers early in World War II, long before the US had entered the war.

thank you but our terrorist is in another castle

thank you but our terrorist is in another castlefrom the talent show: I’ve been saying for years that those Ataris and Nintendos are the cause of violence, but you fools weren’t listening. Now the video game threat has reached our shores:
FBI agents say one of the six men accused of planning a shooting spree at Fort Dix conducted surveillance at several military installations.

According to a complaint, nearby Lakehurst Naval Air Station, Dover Air Force Base in Delaware and a Coast Guard building on Delaware Avenue in Philadelphia were cased in August 2006.

The FBI says it also tailed the suspect to Fort Monmouth.

Prosecutors say the suspect told an informant he settled on Dix because co-defendant Serdar Tatar delivered pizza to the post for Super Mario’s Pizza Restaurant in New Hanover Township.
From what sources are telling me, the Fort Dix terrorists were dangerously close to getting their hands on advanced flame-throwing technology.

from kurt nimmo
: According to the FBI, the United States "dodged a bullet" — or maybe extra cheese and Italian sausage — thanks to paid informants who apparently had little trouble penetrating the group and videotaping them. "What we witnessed here was a brand new form of terrorism," that is to say terrorist plots cooked up in pizza delivery joints by delusional patsies who apparently believed it was possible to attack a military installation with weapons to be provided by "a confidential government witness."

paul & gravel build better debates

ronpaul2008.comfirst, here's some clutter from an unsigned editorial...

from washington post: If you tuned in to the recent Republican and Democratic presidential debates, you may have had the same reaction as many viewers looking at the crowded stages: Who's that? The Democratic debate in South Carolina featured eight candidates, while 10 crammed into the GOP debate in California last Thursday. Voters trying to sort out their presidential choices aren't helped by debates cluttered with the likes of Mike Gravel (hint: he's a former senator from Alaska) on the Democratic side and Ron Paul (hint: he's a libertarian House member from Texas) among the Republicans. If the standard is that any declared candidate is entitled to a podium, we're going to end up with even more crowded stages in 2012.

gravel2008.usand now, here's some clarity from jesse walker...

from reason: Now, there were plenty of candidates on those stages who really were clutter: They don't have a chance to win and their messages are indistinguishable from the people who do have a shot. But it's telling that the Post didn't single out, say, Chris Dodd or Jim Gilmore. It singled out the two most anti-war and anti-establishment figures in the race, two men who clearly are alternatives to the frontrunners. Unlike the clutter candidates, Gravel and Paul said things at the debates that actually generated some buzz afterwards, on talk radio and online if not in the Post or with the Sunday-morning dinosaurs. I don't know if they won any votes, but they did more than anyone else to add ideas to the conversation.

Yes, I'm biased: I'm a Paul supporter, and while Gravel gives off a dotty-old-man vibe I think his anti-war, anti-IRS platform is preferable to any other Democrat's program. But I'm also glad to see small-scale candidates I don't agree with onstage, whether it's Tom Tancredo and his border-control campaign or Dennis Kucinich and his plans to regulate everything up to and including the sky. It's people like that who introduce actual debate to the debates. That concept might be foreign to the Post, which seems eager to whittle the political spectrum to a manageable centimeter, but for some of us it's the only thing that might make the race interesting.

media monarchy is blocked in china

well, i must be doing something right...

so, taking a cue from information liberation, i decided to see if media monarchy was blocked by the great firewall of china and sure enough it is! (this includes the .org & .com sites as well.)

so, why would one of the UN's most favored nations block media monarchy? is it because we've detailed their organ harvesting, cluster bombs & oppression?

oh well, what are they gonna do, make it rain on me?

poll shows 39% of americans support impeachment

poll shows 39% of americans support impeachmentfrom raw story: A poll published Tuesday shows that close to 40% of Americans favor the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, according to an article at Townhall.com.

"Few serious observers think things will ever get to actual impeachment. And yet the American public seems more open to the concept than many imagine, according to a new national poll," wrote Matt Towery, CEO of InsiderAdvantage, which commissioned the poll. "The implications of this public sentiment could be huge for the 2008 presidential elections."

The poll from InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion asked a sample of 621 Americans, "Would you favor or oppose the impeachment by Congress of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney?"

A total of 39% who answered said they favored impeachment, according to Towery. In opposition were 55% of respondents, with 6% answering undecided or don't know. There was a 4% margin of error.

Towery noted that a high proportion of independent voters, who traditionally decide elections, favored impeachment.

"Forty-two percent of independents want Bush and Cheney impeached. These aren't just voters who disapprove of the White House. Instead, they're for initiating a process that could remove them from office," he wrote.

InsiderAdvantage has "been praised by national media ranging from CNN’s Judy Woodruff to Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly, and have appeared in Knight-Ridder newspapers, The Washington Post, Washington Times, New York Post, Business Week, US News and World Report, and CBS News/CBS Marketwatch," according to the company's website.

venezuela criticizes dea as 'new cartel'

venezuela criticizes dea as 'new cartel'from ap/yahoo: Venezuela on Monday said it will not allow U.S. agents to carry out counter-drug operations in the country, accusing the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration of being a "new cartel" that aids traffickers.

Justice Minister Pedro Carreno said the South American nation suspended cooperation with the agency in 2005 after determining that "they were moving a large amount of drugs." President Hugo Chavez at the time also accused the DEA of spying.

"The United States with its DEA monopolizes the shipping of drugs like a cartel," Carreno told reporters. "We determined that we were evidently in the presence of a new cartel." He did not elaborate.

liz comes to visit cousin george

liz comes to visit cousin georgefrom ap: With trumpet fanfare and a 21-gun salute, President Bush welcomed Queen Elizabeth II to the White House on Monday as thousands of invited guests crowded the South Lawn for a glimpse of the British monarch.

The audience laughed aloud at a verbal slip by Bush when he said the queen had dined with 10 U.S. presidents and had helped the United States "celebrate its bicentennial in 17..." Bush caught himself and corrected the date to 1976.

Bush joked that the queen just "gave me a look that only a mother could give a child."

soldiers arrested for looting in kansas

soldiers arrested for looting in kansasfrom cnn: Four soldiers and a reserve police officer were arrested Sunday on suspicion of looting cigarettes and alcohol from a store in this tornado-ravaged town, state officials said.

In a separate incident, two people wearing Red Cross jackets who were not members of the relief agency were arrested Sunday on suspicion of looting, said Sharon Watson, a spokeswoman for the adjutant general's office. She did not have any additional details.

The soldiers from Fort Riley Army base and the reserve police officer had come to assist on their own and were not part of any official detachment, said Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, the state's adjutant general.

"These were people who weren't supposed to be there," Bunting said.

Watson said the five were arrested at a Dillon's supermarket and were being held at the Pratt County Jail without bail. They have not yet been charged.

Watson said the five were in uniform, so police allowed them to come and go freely despite a town curfew. She said the officer was from a central Kansas community, but she was not sure which town...

Greensburg, a south-central Kansas town of about 1,500 people, was destroyed by a tornado that killed eight people in the town and injured scores of others.

bruce willis says jfk killers still in power

bruce willis says jfk killers still in powerfrom propaganda matrix: In a new magazine interview, Bruce Willis spills the beans on his skepticism that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the assassination of JFK, and suggests that the some of the same criminals who killed Kennedy are still in power today.

"They still haven't caught the guy that killed [President] Kennedy," Willis told Vanity Fair's June issue, according to the New York Post.

"I'll get killed for saying this, but I'm pretty sure those guys are still in power, in some form. The entire government of the United States was co-opted," adds the Die Hard star.

So from where did Willis, a former die-hard Neo-Con, receive his sudden wake-up call?

As we reported last year, Hollywood director Richard Linklater said he had handed out 9/11 truth DVDs on the set of Fast Food Nation, including Alex Jones' documentaries, and that they completely changed Willis' political paradigm.

"He said it put him in such a head space that he will be quiet on issues of national policy," Linklater told the Alex Jones Show.

Is Willis' comment that the people who killed Kennedy are still in power a reference to the fact that George H.W. Bush was photographed at the scene in Dealy Plaza?

Either way, it's refreshing to see that Willis, who was vehemently pro-war and pro-Bush in the months after 9/11, has seen the light and realized that patriotism is about love of one's country, not worship of government.

i'd buy that for a dollar: approaching 'robocop' world

i'd buy that for a dollar: approaching 'robocop' worldfrom freedom in our time: When I saw that film twenty years ago, it struck me as uncannily prophetic. (I speak of the original, not the pointless sequels.) Of all the dystopian visions available in literature and on film, RoboCop (directed by Paul Verhoeven, a Dutchman) created an uncannily plausible vision of American totalitarianism – not the dismal, leaden grayness of Soviet Communism, or the lurid pageantry of Nazi Germany, but rather a society run by an all-pervasive corporation that controls its subjects through a combination of synapse-killing mass entertainment and soul-chilling violence.

In that world Omni Consumer Products is the government; it is the military, the police, and the media.

We're not in RoboCop world yet, but we can see its suburbs from here.

tsa loses hard drive with personal info

tsa loses hard drive with personal infofrom ap/my way: The Transportation Security Administration has lost a computer hard drive containing Social Security numbers, bank data and payroll information for about 100,000 employees.

Authorities realized Thursday the hard drive was missing from a controlled area at TSA headquarters. TSA Administrator Kip Hawley sent a letter to employees Friday apologizing for the lost data and promising to pay for one year of credit monitoring services.

"TSA has no evidence that an unauthorized individual is using your personal information, but we bring this incident to your attention so that you can be alert to signs of any possible misuse of your identity," Hawley wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press. "We profoundly apologize for any inconvenience and concern that this incident has caused you."

The agency said it did not know whether the device is still within headquarters or was stolen.

TSA said it has asked the FBI and Secret Service to investigate and said it would fire anyone discovered to have violated the agency's data-protection policies.

In a statement released Friday night, the agency said the external - or portable - hard drive contained information on employees who worked for the Homeland Security agency from January 2002 until August 2005.

TSA, a division of the Homeland Security Department, employs about 50,000 people and is responsible for security of the nation's transportation systems, including airports and train stations.

"It's seems like there's a problem with security inside Homeland Security and that makes no sense," said James Slade, a TSA screener and the executive vice president of the National Treasury Employees Union chapter at John F. Kennedy International Airport. "That's scary. That's my identity. And now who has a hold of it? So many things go on in your mind."

The agency added a section to its Web site Friday night addressing the data security breach and directing people to information about identity theft.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, whose Homeland Security subcommittee oversees the TSA, promised to hold hearings on the security breach. She said Homeland Security buildings are part of the critical infrastructure the agency is charged with protecting.

"We should expect it to be secure," she said.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson, D-Miss., called the security breach "a terrible and unfortunate blow" for an agency he said already suffered from low morale.

It's the latest mishap for the government involving computer data. Last year, a laptop with information for more than 26.5 million military personnel, was stolen from a Veterans Affairs Department employee's home. Law enforcement officials recovered the laptop, and the FBI said Social Security numbers and other personal data had not been copied.

ron paul places third on drudge poll

here is the highlight compilation of ron paul at the first republican debate...

ron paul places third on drudge pollwell, as i started writing this, the drudge poll closed. but i was able to get my vote in for ron paul on the 'who won the reagan derby?' poll... with 18% and 17,028 votes (and still counting), ron paul placed a strong third behind the 9/11 criminal & the mormon

from reason: Matthews' devious "ignore Ron Paul" plan backfires when Paul gets the last word in the debate. And yet afterwards, no one wants to talk to him - Romney dives offstage to mug with Nancy Reagan, and Paul is left huddling with Tancredo. It looks not unlike the Math Olympics team sitting at the back of homeroom as the popular kids talk about the awesome kegger at Todd's house this weekend.

from peggy noonan: All the candidates save one, the obscure but intellectually serious Ron Paul, seemed to be trying to show they will not break with the Bush administration on the war, but that, at the same time, they each know a heck of a lot more than President Bush.

virgin atlantic showing 'loose change' in-flightfrom digg: Loose Change 2 will be shown on Virgin Atlantic flights during the month of May 2007. This incredible (and ironic) development has surfaced via email and on 9/11 Blogger. It is reported on Mercury Media, who distribute media to various networks, studios and airlines, as the first of such airlines to purchase the hit documentary for in-air performance.

and the crowd goes apeshit! contact virgin and congratulate them for their massive balls!

UPDATE: virgin airlines drops in-flight 'change'
from register: Virgin Airlines has pulled a controversial internet documentary on 9/11 from its in-flight entertainment system after complaints from bloggers and radio shows...

another update: virgin's email reply to media monarchy...
Dear Sir/Madam

Many thanks for your email

We appreciate your support in our decision to show Loose Change 2 on our flights.

We have since made the decision not to screen the documentary. Virgin Atlantic is known for showing the latest movies and media trends, without censorship, as we believe that travellers have the right to choose from as wide a programme as possible. However as there was a danger with this movie, that viewers may be offended, although they have the choice not to view it, we have decided to remove it from the in flight Entertainment menu.

We appreciate you taking the time to get in touch with us and we thank you again for your support.

Yours faithfully

mitt romney's biblefield earth

mitt romney's biblefield earthfrom the caucus: “What’s your favorite novel?” is a perennial campaign question, the answer to which presumably gives insight into leadership.

A “Moby-Dick” lover may understand the perils of obsessively chasing of a goal. A fan of “To Kill a Mockingbird” may well focus on racial justice.

When asked his favorite novel in an interview shown yesterday on the Fox News Channel, Mitt Romney pointed to “Battlefield Earth,” a novel by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology. That book was turned into a film by John Travolta, a Scientologist.

A spokesman said later it was one of Mr. Romney’s favorite novels.
“I’m not in favor of his religion by any means,” Mr. Romney, a Mormon, said. “But he wrote a book called ‘Battlefield Earth’ that was a very fun science-fiction book.” Asked about his favorite book, Mr. Romney cited the Bible.

disney channel porn

disney channel pornfrom democratic underground/cbs4: Many New Jersey residents watching the Disney Channel Tuesday morning were outraged after the family-friendly programming turned into a pornographic display.

Jennie Sherman still can't believe what happened while she was watching the show "Handy Manny" with her two twin sons.

"We were just sitting here and the screen just froze and then all of a sudden I saw very graphic pornography on the television and I scrambled to get the remote to shut it off," Sherman told WCBS-TV in New York City.

Sherman said she immediately recorded the X-rated graphic video on her DVR. She then e-mailed wcbstv.com to report the shocking news.

"Basically because I said my husband is not going to believe this," she said. "I was in shock, I pressed record and shut the television off."

Comcast spokesman Fred De'Andrea issued a statement regarding the incident:

At around 9:30 Tuesday morning we had an isolated issue in a local New Jersey Facility. We immediately detected the issue and it was corrected promptly...We apologize to any customer who experienced an issue this morning. We are continuing to investigate the root cause of the incident.

Comcast officials also point out this had nothing to do with the Disney Channel.

"If I was in the kitchen and not with them and this had happened, I would hit the roof I think," Sherman said.

Sherman said she contacted customer service at Comcast and they couldn't tell her if others had complained but they did credit her for a month but she said she is still afraid of turning on her television.

"I am definitely worried to put the Disney Channel on again (or) Comcast again," Sherman said.
