40,000 new US laws passed in 2011 take effect in 2012

from brasschecktv.com: Well, it's a new year and with a new year come a whole lot of new laws. Over 40,000 of them. Some of them are good ideas, some of them I'm not so sure about. It seems like the more lawless they become at the top, the more they want to micromanage the lives of the rest of us...
