collateral 48: a fortunate son?

from collateral news: John McCain, the son of a Navy admiral and commander of the US forces in the Pacific, endured terrible treatment as a Vietnam POW, and for that he is revered by many as a war hero. But he also repeatedly collaborated with the enemy during his captivity, something for which many others who were not 'fortunate sons' were never forgiven.
