from wcco: Five State Patrol troopers have been put on paid administrative leave after a Fridley, Minn. man died after being tased Tuesday afternoon, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
The troopers' administrative leave is standard procedure following such events.
Troopers had been summoned to a traffic crash on Interstate 694 in New Brighton, Minn. at about 5 p.m., where they had a confrontation with what authorities referred to as an "uncooperative" motorist.
In attempting to bring the driver under control, troopers deployed a taser.
The driver, who hasn't been identified yet, was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
The case is currently being investigated by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
