outside the box #137 & 138

here is the latest episode of "outside the box," hosted by alex ansary.
it was originally broadcast by portland community media on february 1, 2008.

from alex ansary: After some updates on on the massive internet failure in Asia, Africa, and the Middle east, Alex speaks with John Taylor Gatto, a vocal critique of the public education school system. John taught as some of the worse and best schools in NYC for over 30 years. In 1991, he retired although he had earned multiple awards for his teaching ability. He said he didn't want to hurt the children any longer. At that point his published several books critiquing the mandated educational school system and goes after its real creators. John's wisdom deserves the ear of our generation, many who are frantically working to assimilate themselves into the factory of the modern world.

here is the latest episode of "outside the box," hosted by alex ansary.
it was originally broadcast by portland community media on january 24, 2008.

from alex ansary: How do perceptions aid in the creation of rigid belief systems? That question comes up periodically as Alex glances over the latest stack of news with a special focus on the global economy and what some people are now calling "Black Tuesday." The warnings that have been made about the manufactured breakdown of the US economy are being increasingly validated as these changes are now manifesting at greater rates than ever before.
