japanese invent car that runs on water

from nikkei business publications: Genepax Co Ltd explained the technologies used in its new fuel cell system “Water Energy System (WES),” which uses water as a fuel and does not emit CO2. The system can generate power just by supplying water and air to the fuel and air electrodes, respectively, the company said at the press conference, which took place June 12, 2008, at the Osaka Assembly Hall.

Why have we heard nothing about this from the mainstream media? What's going on here? If this is real we could eliminate our dependency on oil. Is there anyone else who finds this a bit strange? I found an article from an engineer in the US who did something similar in 2007 ... what's going on here?

The first combustion engine in the late 1800's ran on water. This has been suppressed for 100+ years.

Several people have come up with something similar. A guy in Fort Pierce Florida who was trying to find a cure for cancer found in an experiment that if salt water was bombarded with a certain radio frequency that the water would burn a plasma like flame. Look it up on the internet.
