i hope we have a special prison for 9/11 truthers
from kurt nimmo: In response to the arrest of a 9/11 demonstrator during a Bill Clinton appearance in Corpus Christi, corporate media shill and former Republican Congress critter Joe Scarborough and his co-hosts demanded 9/11 truthers be tasered and taken to detention camps. “Where’s the taser?” Joe wants to know as MSNBC runs footage of the man’s arrest. “Tase him!” His co-host adds: “Led away in handcuffs and hopefully taken to one of those secret prisons in eastern Europe and never to be heard from again… I hope we have a special prison for 9/11 conspiracy theorists.”
no sonar link found in dolphin deaths
from virginian-pilot: From a public relations perspective, the strandings of four marine mammals here last week couldn't have come at a worse time for the Navy. The service is hosting a public hearing in Virginia Beach today on the effects of its sonar training on marine mammals. Some scientists insist sonar harms dolphins, whales and the like. But those investigating the recent strandings say they have found no link to Navy sonar. This weekend, three dolphins were found on the shores of the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
more nuclear problems at minot
from in from the cold: For the second time in less than three months, a unit at Minot AFB, North Dakota has earned low marks on a nuclear surety inspection. The evaluation from that agency was held concurrently with a similar inspection from by the Air Force Space Command Inspector General (IG) team. The wing passed the Space Command NSI, allowing it to retain its nuclear mission certification.
bjork's shanghai surprise: a cry of 'tibet!'
from guardian: First, Stephen Spielberg upset Chinese internet users after resigning as artistic adviser to the Olympics over Darfur. Now, Bjork is under attack after shouting "Tibet! Tibet!" at the end of her song Declare Independence at a concert in Shanghai. Her remark was not reported in the official media, but led to angry criticism when it began to circulate on the web. While China's 58-year occupation remains controversial internationally, most Chinese people see Tibet as an integral part of their nation and regard calls for its independence as intrusive and divisive.
